Physician - Pediatric Endocrinology

Role Overview

Physician – Pediatric Endocrinology at Sidra Medicine, responsible for the delivery of high-quality evidence-based care and the effective and efficient diagnosing, managing, and treating of all patients placed under the role holder's care.

Role Purpose

Deliver high-quality evidence-based pediatric endocrinology care through comprehensive patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. Make clinical recommendations and order appropriate therapeutics and diagnostics according to each patient's diagnosed condition, while maintaining safe and holistic standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care Delivery

• Assess and reassess inpatients and/or outpatients on a regular basis in line with established best practice.
• Conduct ward rounds and reassess inpatients and/or outpatients on a regular basis in line with established best practice.
• Provide clinical excellence through effective and efficient diagnosis, management, and treatment of all patients placed under your care.
• Deliver safe, effective, and holistic clinical services within accepted standards of care.
• Regularly review results of all investigations and modify treatment as required.

Documentation and Compliance

• Accurately document all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with established procedures.
• Comply with all hospital policies regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, outpatient and follow-up practices.
• Support, implement, and follow all hospital, departmental, and divisional initiatives, policies, and procedures.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

• Actively participate in interdisciplinary meetings to help plan effective, safe, and holistic care for individual patients.
• Liaise with colleagues, Allied Health staff, nursing, administrative, and support services staff for additional input as required.

Resource Management and Operations

• Practice appropriate utilization of the organization's resources.
• Perform other clinical responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Professional Development

• Demonstrate an active interest in educating and fostering future academic leaders nationally and internationally through active participation in education initiatives.
• Demonstrate commitment to Continued Medical Education (CME).
• Keep abreast of current, relevant literature and the latest trends and technologies in the industry.

Research and Innovation

• Demonstrate an active interest and involvement in research by initiating innovative clinical or research outcomes or collaborating on research projects to support the Sidra vision.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• MD, MBBS, or equivalent
• Completion of residency program in Pediatrics
• Accredited Fellowship/training in Pediatric Endocrinology

Experience

• 2+ years of training/Fellowship experience in Pediatric Endocrinology
