Physician - Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Arabic Speaker)

Role Overview

Physician - Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Sidra Medicine. This is a clinical position serving patients in child and adolescent mental health in an inpatient and outpatient setting.

Role Purpose

Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to children and adolescents with psychiatric conditions through accurate diagnosis, effective treatment planning, and ongoing clinical management in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment and Management

• Assess and reassess inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis in line with established best practices.
• Conduct ward rounds and reassess inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis in line with established best practice.
• Diagnose, assess, and treat child and adolescent psychiatric conditions.
• Provide clinical excellence by effectively and efficiently diagnosing, managing, and treating all patients placed under your care.
• Review results of all investigations and modify treatment as required.
• Order appropriate therapeutics and diagnostics as per the patient's diagnosed condition.
• Deliver safe, effective, and holistic clinical services within accepted standards of care.

Documentation and Compliance

• Accurately document all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion in accordance with established procedures.
• Comply with all hospital policies regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, discharge protocols, outpatient and follow-up practices.
• Support, implement, and follow all hospital, departmental, and divisional initiatives, policies, and procedures.
• Practice appropriate utilization of the organization's resources.

Collaboration and Consultation

• Actively participate in interdisciplinary meetings to help plan effective, safe, and holistic care for individual patients.
• Liaise with colleagues, allied health staff, nursing, administrative, and support services staff for additional input as required.

On-Call and Coverage

• Provide after-hours on-call coverage on a rotation basis with other clinicians in the Department.

Education and Research

• Demonstrate an active interest in educating and fostering future academic leaders nationally and internationally through active participation in education initiatives.
• Demonstrate an active interest in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Demonstrate active interest and involvement in research by initiating innovative clinical or research outcomes or collaborating on research projects to support the Sidra vision.
• Demonstrate commitment to Continued Medical Education (CME).

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• MD, MBBS degree or equivalent
• Residency training in Psychiatry (ACGMEI accredited)
• Subspecialty Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or equivalent certification

Experience

• 1+ years of post-certification experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
