Passive ICT Infrastructure Lead-Airport Project

Role Overview

Passive ICT Infrastructure Lead for an Airport Project with WSP Middle East, based in KSA. This role leads and oversees all passive infrastructure elements supporting Special Airport Systems, ensuring design, installation, testing, and commissioning align with project standards and aviation requirements.

Role Purpose

Lead passive infrastructure delivery across the full project lifecycle, from design review through handover. Ensure structured cabling, containment systems, and pathways are installed to specification, coordinate seamlessly with active systems and construction teams, and support the Project Director with progress monitoring and risk reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

• Lead the passive SAS scope across the project lifecycle: design review, shop drawing and submittal review, installation oversight, testing, and handover.
• Own passive infrastructure engineering deliverables including cable routing, containment coordination, pathway planning, and integration across disciplines.
• Manage technical queries (RFIs), site issues, and resolution tracking to prevent delays and ensure compliance with airport and aviation expectations.

Stakeholder & Interface Management

• Coordinate with active SAS teams, ICT, and construction stakeholders to ensure seamless interface management and end-to-end system readiness.
• Provide clear reporting to the Project Director, supporting decisions and mitigation planning.
• Maintain strong communication with multi-stakeholder teams and construction interfaces.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure installation quality and compliance through inspections, method statement and ITP reviews, and progress verification against programme milestones.
• Ensure documentation quality for handover, including as-builts, test results, O&M inputs, and evidence packs aligned to project requirements.

Commissioning & Testing

• Drive commissioning readiness: support pre-commissioning checks, FAT/SAT preparation where applicable, integrated testing coordination, and documentation closure.

Progress & Risk Reporting

• Monitor progress, highlight risks, and provide clear reporting to the Project Director, supporting decisions and mitigation planning.

Qualifications & Experience

• 15+ years of relevant experience in passive infrastructure delivery for complex ICT, ELV, airport, or mission-critical environments.
• Proven experience working on major multi-stakeholder projects, interfacing with active systems and ICT teams and managing construction constraints.
• Solid capability in quality and progress control: inspections, compliance checks, test planning, and structured close-out.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems, containment (tray, trunking, conduit), pathways, and passive infrastructure coordination in live construction settings.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to provide concise, accurate progress and risk updates.
• Practical, site-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving ability and attention to technical detail.
