Role Overview
Organizational Activities Interface (OAI)/Technical Support Engineer for the UAE Patriot Technical Assistance program at RTX, located in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Role Purpose
Provide technical field operational services and instruction to UAE military personnel on the Patriot Air Defense System, ensuring system operational readiness, personnel training capability, and mission effectiveness at battalion and fire unit levels.
Key Responsibilities
System Operations & Initialization
- Advise and assist with Patriot Battalion and Fire Unit personnel training in required operational skills
- Assist with BN/FU operation software initialization, including formulating system databases and communication plans
- Provide expertise on system software application, including initialization, operation, and training
- Support integrated Phased Array Tracking Radar to Intercept of Target (PATRIOT) System operational readiness across all aspects of the Air Battle at BN and FU levels
Training & Instruction
- Conduct new equipment training and sustainment training in both classroom and practical exercise formats
- Provide technical instruction and training at the training center using conference and practical exercise teaching methods
- Instruct organizational classes in RSOP/Survey, March Order and Emplacement, System Initialization and Mapping, Air Defense Mission (ADM) against Air-Breathing Threats (ABT) and Tactical Ballistic Missiles (TBM), Guided Missile Reload, and ARTEP Battle Drills/Gunnery Tables
- Provide software (PDB's) and hardware (sweeps) update training
- Support UAE military personnel in system refresher operator training for battery and battalion personnel to maintain, improve, and upgrade skills
- Participate in On-the-Job Training (OJT) programs
Tactical Operations & Procedures
- Provide technical advice and assist battery personnel with operational and tactical procedures associated with the Patriot Missile System
- Conduct operation and management of exercises utilizing practice scenarios with the Patriot ECS and ICC
- Assist with Battalion and Fire Unit-to-Fire Unit (FU-FU) integrated operations
- Assist in training of organizational level system upgrades
General Duties
- Perform other related duties as required or directed by the section officer
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum four years of direct experience with the PATRIOT Air Defense System
- Directly related experience in the Patriot Evaluation Section and Patriot Tactical Operations at the Battalion or higher level
- Demonstrated experience with integrated Battalion and Fire Unit-to-Fire Unit (FU-FU) operations
- Successfully completed the Patriot Operator and System Mechanic MOS 24T/14E/140E conducted under U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) auspices or equivalent course of instruction conducted by the Patriot Missile System Contractor
- Demonstrated knowledge of Brigade/AADCOM level TACSOP's and capability to assist in training of organizational level system upgrades
- Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of related experience, or Associates Degree with 8 years of related experience, or High School Diploma/GED with 12 years of related experience
- Active and existing Department of Defense Secret security clearance required on day 1
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of PATRIOT integrated battalion and Fire Platoon-to-Fire Platoon operations, including expertise with PATRIOT communication links
- Minimum one year of Collective Training experience or assignment to a deployed PATRIOT Battalion in CONUS or OCONUS
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Power Point

- Technical expertise in Patriot system software and hardware operations
- Instructional and training delivery capability
- Knowledge of air defense tactical operations and procedures
- Familiarity with Patriot ECS and ICC exercise management systems
- Understanding of integrated battalion and fire unit operations

- Duration: Short-term assignment only
- Salary range: $86,800 USD – $165,200 USD
