Role Overview

Operator - Mobile Harbour Crane at AD Ports Group.

Role Purpose

Operate mobile harbour cranes to safely load and unload containers and various cargo types from vessels, and coordinate material handling across terminal operations while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Equipment Handling

• Operate Mobile Harbour Crane (MHC) for loading and unloading containers from vessels.
• Safely operate mobile harbor cranes to handle various types of cargo, including containers, bulk goods, and general cargo.
• Move controls, devices, and levers to drive forklifts to transfer materials between unloading, processing, loading, and storage areas.
• Haul cargo from one point to another.
• Monitor weight limits and ensure proper balancing of loads.
• Inspect cargo to verify it has been loaded correctly.

Maintenance & Inspection

• Perform routine pre- and post-shift inspections to ensure all crane systems and components are functioning properly.
• Ensure suitable working condition of forklift equipment.
• Inspect trucks for safety and follow safety instructions, especially when carrying hazardous materials or chemicals.
• Maintain knowledge of truck maintenance procedures in case of breakdown.
• Identify and report any malfunction or safety concerns.

Material Organization & Storage

• Organize and secure stored materials such as bales, super sacks, boxes, pallets, and similar items.
• Load or unload materials manually onto or off pallets, platforms, skids, or lifting devices.
• Wrap material loads with wrapper.
• Keep the warehouse premises clean.

Coordination & Supervision

• Consult, work, and coordinate with supervisors and managers regarding unloading and loading operations.
• Train driver(s) who work under supervision.
• Coordinate shift driving to distribute workload.

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School certificate (Diploma is a plus).
• Valid U.A.E. Heavy Machinery License.
• Technical certification in port operations (advantageous).
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in equipment operation within a terminal or similar industrial environment.
• Prior experience operating reach stackers or empty handlers considered a natural progression.
• Strong understanding of container terminal operations: vessel logistics, hazardous cargo, break-bulk, and special cargo handling.
• Familiarity with international safety standards and strict compliance with safe working practices.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent English.
• Arabic (added advantage).
