Operator (Fuelling)

Role Overview

Operator (Fuelling) at ADNOC, performing safe and timely refuelling and defuelling of aircraft at an airport location in full compliance with Aviation Standards, Airport Regulations, and ADNOC requirements.

Role Purpose

Refuel and defuel customer aircraft safely and efficiently according to assigned schedules and company standards. Coordinate with customer representatives, monitor all operations for safety and quality compliance, and report feedback, operational issues, safety concerns, and vehicle defects to supervisors and maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities

Fuelling Operations

• Refuel and defuel customer aircraft as per assigned schedule, ensuring operations are carried out properly and efficiently in accordance with company standards.
• Receive relevant details from superior regarding amount of fuel to be supplied, type of dispenser or fueller, aircraft parking location, Gate Number, aircraft type, and other operational requirements before conducting fuelling operations.
• Check refuelling vehicle before proceeding to aircraft to ensure no equipment defects exist and report any malfunctioning to supervisor.
• Drive to apron following speed limits and position refuelling vehicle near aircraft as required.
• Connect bonding hoses to aircraft and hydrant pit as applicable.
• Ensure hoses and nozzles are secured as per prescribed standards.
• Disconnect hoses and bonding after completion of fuelling operations.
• Monitor vehicle safety during fuel supply, drive to aircraft fuelling point, connect hose, start refuelling process, take samples, disconnect hose, and fill in receipt.
• Complete all related documentation and obtain signature from customer's representative or agent.
• Drive safely after completion of refuelling operations to depot or proceed to another aircraft as directed, ensuring safety of property and apron staff.
• Maintain constant vigilance on fuelling process, fuelling vehicle, and surrounding operations.
• Verify fuel requirement with aircraft technician or pilot and start fuelling with their instruction.
• Perform product visual check as per Aviation Quality Manual during and after fuelling completion.

Refuelling with Refueller Vehicle

• Check available quantity in assigned refueller and drive following airport safety and security rules.
• Position refueller safely and properly and connect fuelling equipment as per Aviation Operating Manual.
• Verify fuel requirement with aircraft technician or pilot and start fuelling with their instruction.
• Complete delivery ticket process through car PC or prepare manual ticket.
• Disconnect fuelling equipment as per Aviation Operating Manual and verify all hoses are in place.
• Load Refueller Vehicle when required as per supervisor instruction.

Defuelling Operations

• Position refueller safely and properly and verify flight details against noted details.
• Take sample from aircraft tank and perform Quality Control Check as per Aviation Operations Manual.
• Connect fuelling equipment as per Aviation Operating Manual.
• Verify defuel requirement with aircraft technician or pilot and start defuelling with their instruction.
• Stop defuelling based on refueller capacity and technician advice then complete delivery ticket process.
• Disconnect defuelling equipment as per Aviation Operating Manual and verify all hoses are in place.
• Inform shift supervisor about defuelling completion and wait for further instruction.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Follow operations emergency plans and evacuation procedures and use safety equipment and fire extinguishers.
• Participate in all HSE campaigns, training courses, awareness sessions, and initiatives deployment to meet stated objectives.
• Ensure full compliance to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety regulations during all operations.
• Report all incidents and near misses immediately to supervisor.
• Follow company emergency and operations group procedures and participate in emergency drills accordingly.

Fire-Fighting Operations

• Carry out regular and surprise rounds of critical operation areas and facilities to ensure fire equipment is in workable condition and report unsafe precedents.
• Inspect, clean, and test fire-fighting apparatus, tools, and equipment, including hoses, hose fittings, hydrants, ladders, and hand extinguishers to ensure readiness.
• Respond to fire or accident alarms from plant control rooms, determine approach to fire location, make necessary hose connections to fixed fire hydrants, and start firefighting using appropriate tools according to fire source.
• Participate in emergency actions dictated by situation to ensure quick and immediate response to emergency.

Product Quality

• Take regular fuel samples before, during, and after refuelling from filter inlet, sump, or outlet as per procedure to check fuel quality.
• Perform quality checks on different fixed and mobile equipment as per aviation requirement and as assigned by supervisor.

Equipment Maintenance

• Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly serviceability checks of mobile and static fuelling equipment as assigned by supervisor.
• Carry out manual tasks in depot and apron including pit cleaning, hose pulling, connecting, disconnecting, taking samples, replenishing refuellers, and other tasks as required and according to defined procedures.
• Top up Gas oil on mobile units as needed.
• Report defects and problems to shift supervisor and log them in maintenance logbook.

Customer Support

• Help and support customers whenever needed.
• Guide customers to safe practices if needed and report customer concerns to shift supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Secondary or High School Certificate (minimum qualification).
• Three years of experience as Fuelling Operator.
