Role Overview
Operator - CNC at Al Ghurair. This role involves operating CNC punching and bending machines to manufacture components to specification, with responsibility for machine setup, quality assurance, and team support.
Role Purpose
To operate CNC machines safely and efficiently, producing components that meet dimensional and quality standards while maintaining machine performance, workplace safety, and supporting the development of junior operators.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Setup & Configuration
- Select, install, and verify the correct tooling in the machine tool station according to production requirements.
- Load and verify CNC punching and bending programs to ensure accurate and efficient machine operations.
- Configure machine parameters, perform zero referencing, and complete initial setup before production.
- Define the correct profile which needs machining.
Machine Monitoring & Performance
- Continuously monitor machine performance to ensure smooth operation, quality output, and production efficiency.
- Ensure machines are used at highest performance.
- Identify and resolve machine malfunctions, breakdowns, and machining errors to minimize downtime.
Quality & Inspection
- Read and interpret 3rd Angle Projection mechanical drawings to accurately manufacture components.
- Use precision measuring instruments to verify product dimensions and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform finishing operations and inspect completed parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards.
- Ensure the quality of material after machining.
Health, Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow HSE regulations and safe work practices, and maintain a clean and hazard-free workplace.
- Follow HSE rules and regulations implemented in the workplace.
- Be aware of emergency preparedness and response procedures in the workplace.
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and compliant with 5S and company housekeeping standards.
Compliance & Professional Conduct
- Demonstrate punctuality, integrity, reliability, and a positive attitude in all work activities.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, quality standards, and operational guidelines.
Operations & Flexibility
- Work assigned shifts and support other departments whenever required to meet business needs.
- Allocate work based on production schedules, priorities, and manpower availability to achieve daily targets.
Team Development
- Provide on-the-job training, guidance, and mentorship to junior operators to improve skills and productivity.
- Ensure operators are trained to operate the machineries.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience with the specified machines, as every machine has a specified program.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings.
- Read and write English.
- Computer knowledge.
