Role Purpose
The Operations Systems Specialist administers, configures, implements, and continuously improves operational systems supporting Etihad's airport and passenger services operations. The role acts as a key liaison between operational stakeholders, ground handling partners, and technology teams to ensure systems meet business, regulatory, and operational requirements. This position focuses predominantly on Self Service and supplementary systems used for terminal operations.
Key Responsibilities
System Configuration & Management
- Manage system configurations, parameters, and outputs to ensure accuracy, safety, regulatory compliance, and alignment with business requirements.
- Perform system assessments, identify operational risks, and implement mitigation measures to prevent service disruptions and errors.
Deployment & Implementation
- Execute project activities and deliverables in support of company and departmental initiatives.
- Coordinate and support the deployment of self-service technology solutions across the network.
- Support system enhancements, system and technology deployments across stations, and the deployment of new functionality across the network.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Conduct system testing and escalate defects to ensure timely resolution.
Issue Resolution & Support
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational and system-related issues, escalating where necessary.
- Provide functional support and respond to internal and external stakeholder inquiries.
Documentation & Training
- Develop and maintain user guides, process documentation, and training materials for implemented systems.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, user adoption, and operational outcomes across the network.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years' operational experience in airline and/or ground handling operations.
- Minimum high school diploma.
- On-the-job DCS training.
- Subject matter expertise in departure control and/or reservations systems.
- Working understanding of system integration with airline operational workflows.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage system configurations and deployments.
