Operations Supervisor

Role Overview

Operations Supervisor at Emirates Flight Catering. The role controls daily operational activities of Flight Operations and assists the Operations Management to supervise the workforce and coordinate with clients, internal stakeholders and external stakeholders to ensure people, production and catering services are operated in the most efficient and safe manner, delivering the highest standards of service and product to customers.

Role Purpose

Supervise assigned staff and oversee daily flight operations activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant catering service delivery that meets airline standards and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Management

• Train, motivate and counsel assigned staff to achieve agreed objectives and provide necessary guidance as required.
• Prepare briefings and shift handovers communicated to all relevant stakeholders.
• Assign work to team and set priorities.
• Positively manage conflict and foster a team-based approach.

Airline Coordination

• Liaise with airline representatives regarding catering uplift, passenger figures and additional service requests on a flight-to-flight basis.
• Prepare catering order forms and forward them to all concerned sections.
• Ensure loading and offloading procedures follow airline, company and airport security policy.

Operations Monitoring

• Carry out spot-checks at the operations section and on the ramp to ensure food and equipment are provided as per airline standards on schedule.
• Monitor daily resource allocation and escalate any significant variances to Management and Business Support.
• Control daily operational activities of Flight Operations.

Compliance & Documentation

• Check all checklists and relevant documents to ensure they are completed and duly signed by all concerned before forwarding to the Accounts Department.
• Ensure loading and offloading procedures are followed as per laid down policy.
• Comply with and ensure all relevant standards and regulatory requirements are met.
• Implement safe working practices and procedures in accordance with Emirates Flight Catering policies.

Incident Management

• Demonstrate ability to identify and implement corrective actions arising from incident investigation.
• Promptly carry out required due diligence of incidents and escalate to management.

Service Quality

• Ensure all customers are provided with the best quality of service through cost effective and efficient management.
• Assure continuous improvement of service delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or equivalent qualification (required).
• 5 years of experience in Flight Operations, Food Packing or Logistics function, preferably in the Airline Catering Industry and/or Food Industry.
• 2 years exposure in a supervisory capacity (preferred).
• Certifications or licensure related to Six Sigma, Logistics, or Supply Chain (preferred).

Skills & Competencies

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain records and prepare reports with strong attention to detail.
• Time and resource management skills.
• Good knowledge of MS Office applications and ERP systems.
• Ability to collaborate cross functionally and at all levels.
• High level of commitment to continuous improvement and adaptability to change.
