Operations Engineer (Omani Nationals)

Role Overview

Operations Engineer (Omani Nationals) at NOV. The role serves as the primary liaison between Tuboscope, customers, joint ventures, and suppliers to ensure efficient project execution, quality compliance, inventory management, revenue reporting, and customer satisfaction.

Role Purpose

The Business Unit Coordinator / Operations & Quality Representative manages all operational, commercial, quality, inventory, training, and customer-facing activities related to Tuboscope products within the country.

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Project Coordination

• Serve as Tuboscope's primary representative in-country for Tuboscope products.
• Manage communications with customers and joint ventures regarding project execution and operational requirements.
• Coordinate and communicate technical, commercial, quality, and operational matters related to ongoing projects.
• Receive, acknowledge, and monitor purchase orders and customer requirements.
• Coordinate upcoming production plans and delivery schedules with customers, joint ventures, and internal teams.
• Submit invoices and support customer and joint venture payment follow-up activities.
• Lead quarterly performance and metrics review meetings with joint venture partners.

Inventory, Production & Supply Chain Management

• Monitor daily inventory levels, production output, and material consumption.
• Forecast material requirements.
• Coordinate spare parts and plant consumable requirements.
• Manage material receiving transactions and inventory records within JDE.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding RFQs, material availability, lead times, and logistics arrangements.
• Support procurement activities by evaluating supplier capabilities and delivery performance.
• Maintain visibility of production and sales backlogs and communicate risks proactively.

Financial & Commercial Reporting

• Prepare and manage accrual and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) reporting.
• Prepare monthly revenue flash reports.
• Develop revenue forecasts and business performance projections.
• Support internal financial reporting requirements and business reviews.
• Assist inside sales teams during SOX audits and compliance reviews.

Quality Assurance & Quality Control

• Perform material receiving inspections and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Prepare and submit monthly quality metrics reports.
• Raise and manage Management of Change (MOC) documentation.
• Initiate Quality Action Requests (QAR) and Corrective Action Requests (CAR) for non-conformances.
• Investigate, track, and close quality-related issues and corrective actions.
• Ensure Quality Management System (QMS) documentation remains current and aligned with standard requirements.
• Conduct supplier evaluations and periodic re-evaluations.
• Maintain risk registers and coordinate contingency planning activities.
• Review quality records including training records, calibration certificates, maintenance reports, production reports, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Support implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.

Training & Technical Support

• Demonstrate willingness to be trained in various disciplines related to Oman operations.
• Work independently or in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output.
• Remain flexible and adapt to the needs of the organization.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet goals and deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience

• Engineering Graduate.
• Minimum 3 years of experience.
• Experience with oil and gas companies with actual exposure to drilling rigs, hoist operations, industrial plant production and management, and operations and QA/QC processes.
• Actual exposure to well run completions and oil and gas fields.
• OCTG Inspector Level-1 certification.
• PDO HSE certification.
• Valid Driving License.
• Good command of verbal and written English communication.

Additional Information

• Willingness to travel outside Oman to GCC countries when required.
