Role Purpose

The Oncology Therapy Specialist exists to achieve oncology business objectives by developing strong scientific partnerships with oncologists, hematologists, pharmacists, and other healthcare stakeholders. The role provides specialized therapeutic expertise, drives appropriate utilization of Abbott's oncology portfolio, identifies business opportunities, supports patient access initiatives, and executes territory strategies that contribute to sustainable growth and improved patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Territory Business Planning

• Develop and execute territory business plans to achieve oncology sales and market share objectives.
• Analyze territory performance, customer insights, competitor activities, and market trends.

Stakeholder Relationship Management

• Build and maintain relationships with oncologists, hematologists, pharmacists, and key stakeholders in cancer centers and hospitals.
• Work with oncologists, hematologists, oncology pharmacists, and multidisciplinary teams.

Scientific & Clinical Engagement

• Conduct scientific discussions and product presentations supporting appropriate product utilization.
• Apply understanding of scientific data interpretation and treatment pathways.

Patient Access & Business Development

• Identify patient access barriers and work cross-functionally to develop solutions.
• Identify business opportunities within the oncology market.

Events & Education

• Plan and support scientific meetings, educational events, and congress activities.

Compliance & Administration

• Manage CRM systems, compliance activities, reporting, and administrative responsibilities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum 4–6 years of pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Oncology or specialty-care experience.
• Hospital and institutional account management experience.
• Experience working with oncologists, hematologists, oncology pharmacists, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Oncology or biosimilars experience is preferred.
