Role Purpose

To maintain, repair, and optimize all marine and land-based vehicles and related equipment at the resort, ensuring proper operation, safety compliance, and cost efficiency while supporting the Engineering Department's daily operations and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Marine & Vehicle Maintenance

• Supervise all repairs and maintenance of water-based vehicles including speedboats, dive boats, barges, whalers, rowing boats, pontoon boats, and dhonis.
• Attend to repair and maintenance of land-based vehicles such as golf carts and buggies when requested.
• Maintain and update the marine vehicles record system of the resort.
• Record all service and repair work completed for boats, vehicles, and equipment.
• Keep logs of spare parts used to ensure proper equipment operation.
• Carry out and log marine meter readings on a daily basis and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Records daily work activity on the daily work summary.

Preventive Maintenance & Planning

• Execute the Preventive Maintenance program across all equipment and systems.
• Ensure execution of Maintenance Requests and provide feedback to requesting departments upon job completion.
• Assist in daily scheduling and weekly forecasting of all marine maintenance work.
• Discuss pending work during morning briefing.

Welding & Fabrication

• Carry out electric arc welding and oxy-acetylene welding if capable and needed.
• Perform minor fabrication work and metal work when required.

Engineering & Infrastructure Support

• Attend to repair and maintenance of power house generators if requested.
• Attend to machinery maintenance requests when instructed.
• Attend to all types of repair and maintenance work in the resort premises including new additions, extensions, or other properties maintained by Anantara.
• Maintain records of all important information pertaining to operation of marine vehicles and Engineering staff on assigned duty.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure that engineering services comply with established standards and quality.
• Ensure safety at work for all engineering staff.
• Determine cleanliness by inspection of engineering areas and marine workshop to ensure all areas are clean and tidy at all times.
• Ensure issued hand tools are kept in proper working order.
• Comply with Anantara Safety, Fire and Hygiene Policy and Procedures.
• Comply with Departmental Standards and Procedure (SOP).
• Act as Fire Brigade Team Member when assigned.
• Participate in conducting Fire Prevention Training Programs.

Operations & Coordination

• Supervise hands-on work and coordinate with all engineering staff on their behalf if required.
• Coordinate with Assistant Chief Engineer to follow up on daily work if required.
• Assist storekeeper to organize accurate ordering of spare parts.
• Perform shift duties when assigned by Supervisor or Assistant Chief Engineer.
• Respond to requests appropriately when assigned with duty phone.
• Attend the engineering daily morning briefing.

Strategy & Continuous Improvement

• Advise improvements to present systems in order to optimize operating efficiency and economy.
• Support and initiate programs for the improvement of procedures and reduction of engineering costs.
• Participate with Chief Engineer in review and make recommendations on the annual Engineering budget.

Compliance & Development

• Ensure implementation of Anantara policies, standards and procedures in relation to Engineering.
• Participate with Anantara Environmental Program.
• Participate in the resort's energy conservation program.
• Attend meetings or training sessions as required by management.
• Interact and cooperate with others in the Engineering Department.
• Interact and cooperate with resort contractors as directed.
• Interact with other departments when necessary to provide additional or specialized services for functions, promotions and festivities.
• Perform all jobs or tasks assigned by supervisor or managers regarding engineering work.

Qualifications & Experience

• Two to five years of experience in the same field.
• Good English communication skills.
• Good technical skills.
• Ability to handle pressure at work.
• Ability to multi-task.
