Role Overview

Oliver Wyman seeks an Associate and Engagement Manager for its Government and Public Institutions practice in Doha. This role is based at the Doha office and supports the firm's continued expansion in the government and public sector across the GCC region.

Role Purpose

To serve as a thought leader and on-scene project leader who breaks down complex government and public sector problems, directs analytical focus, executes strategic problem-solving, and leads client engagement teams to deliver practical, cohesive recommendations that drive lasting change.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Problem-Solving & Analysis

• Break down complex problems into discrete tasks and identify key aspects requiring focused investigation.
• Conduct strategic problem-solving with demonstrable analytical rigor to identify core issues within complex analyses.
• Craft suitable recommendations based on thorough analysis and problem diagnosis.

Project Leadership & Execution

• Lead teams through an efficient and effective problem-solving process from initial hypothesis collection to solution convergence.
• Run projects day to day as the on-scene leader, ensuring thought leadership at the strategic level.
• Execute analysis plans effectively and ensure recommendations are practical, sensible, relevant, and cohesive.
• Direct the focus of junior consultants to key problem elements and manage small teams to deliver results.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Work side by side with clients and project team members to move projects forward.
• Forge strong relationships with clients and colleagues grounded in transparency and trust.
• Present with outstanding communication skills to senior executives both internally and at client organizations.
• Ensure delivery against tight deadlines in fast-paced and demanding environments.

Thought Leadership

• Provide unique insight into specialized subject areas where you have chosen to build expertise.
• Challenge conventional thinking and pursue innovative, customized solutions.
• Combine behavioral and management approaches to accelerate client execution.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree from a top academic program.
• At least 5–7 years of relevant experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm or similar organization.
• Experience leading projects in governmental and public sector institutions, ideally in the GCC region.
• Demonstrated track record of leading and managing teams and clients while delivering against tight deadlines in fast-paced and demanding environments.
• Arabic language is a plus.
