Ocean Fulfilment Lead

Role Overview

Ocean Fulfilment Lead at Maersk, based in the UAE. This role owns product delivery, vessel scheduling, and asset utilization across a designated set of services within global container shipping operations.

Role Purpose

To ensure reliable, customer-aligned service delivery by optimizing vessel scheduling, space utilization, equipment flow, and asset performance while managing vessel contingencies and coordinating across internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Service Delivery

• Own and ensure delivery of the product aligned with customer expectations and commitments.
• Maintain accountability for customer outcomes and service delivery within the designated scope, collaborating closely with market and network colleagues.

Asset & Utilization Optimization

• Own the overall utilization and schedule reliability of a set of services.
• Optimize usage of space by optimizing booking, adjusting allocation, and managing cargo loading (rolling, re-routing) in conjunction with Markets, including both laden and empty flow.
• Own and optimize execution of the empty flow plan.
• Maintain accountability for optimizing asset utilization, including bunker consumption and overall utilization, to meet strategic objectives.
• Maintain accountability for optimal full and empty flow of equipment.

Vessel Operations & Scheduling

• Own vessel scheduling to meet reliability and delivery requirements.
• Coordinate delivery and re-delivery plans while managing bunker consumption.
• Manage vessel contingencies and incidents.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

• Collaborate with network and marketing teams to identify and implement deployment and optimization opportunities that enhance customer experience and network efficiency.
• Maintain close communication with various internal and external stakeholders, including terminal operators, captains/masters, Markets, customer experience teams, local execution teams, equipment teams, Ocean Fulfilment Lead counterparts, Ocean Network Product, CENFLW, and VSA partners.
