Obstetrician and Gynecologist Consultant (High Risk)

Role Overview

Obstetrician and Gynecologist Consultant (High Risk) at SEHA Hospitals. This role provides specialist care for complex obstetric cases in a high-risk maternal-fetal medicine setting.

Role Purpose

Deliver expert clinical care for high-risk pregnancies and maternal complications, lead multidisciplinary teams, perform advanced diagnostic procedures, and contribute to clinical governance and professional development within the obstetrics department.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Expertise

• Provide expert care for high-risk pregnancies, including management of maternal complications and fetal anomalies.
• Perform and interpret advanced prenatal imaging and diagnostic procedures, including fetal ultrasound, Doppler studies, amniocentesis, and chorionic villus sampling.
• Guide the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care of complex obstetric cases.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Lead multidisciplinary case discussions involving neonatology, genetics, radiology, and other specialties.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with obstetrics teams.
• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, residents, and fellows.

Governance & Professional Development

• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety standards.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy.
• Engage in academic teaching, research, and continuing professional development.
• Comply with SEHA and DOH policies, guidelines, and regulations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent).
• Completion of specialized training in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Valid DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) license, CCT UK, American Board, German Board, and/or eligibility to obtain.
• Minimum 8–10 years of experience post-specialization, with significant exposure to high-risk obstetrics.
• Previous SEHA or GCC experience is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Expert knowledge in General Obstetrics and Gynecology cases, maternal-fetal medicine, and prenatal diagnostics.
• Proficiency in high-resolution obstetric ultrasound and fetal procedures.
