Role Overview
Nursing Supervisor - Taif at Nahdi. The role leads the nursing team across assigned duty spans, ensuring nursing and personal care for clinic patients is delivered daily according to individual needs and capabilities.
Role Purpose
To lead and supervise nursing staff while delivering direct nursing and personal care to clinic patients. The supervisor ensures adherence to infection control and hygiene guidelines, manages medical equipment and consumable stocks, and supports physicians in patient diagnosis and care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Support
- Provide medical and nursing care to patients, including advice and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Greet patients and escort them to examination rooms.
- Take and document medical history from patients.
- Screen patients for risk of falls, nutritional deficiency, and functional risk.
- Take and document vital signs.
- Perform minor wound dressings.
- Monitor patients under observation.
- Prepare and administer intramuscular and intravenous medications under aseptic conditions.
- Escort patients in ambulances.
- Ensure patients' dignity during examinations and procedures.
- Assist physicians in performing patient examinations and procedures.
- Withdraw blood from patients for laboratory investigations in the emergency room.
- Perform point of care tests.
- Triage patients at the emergency room to categorize their emergency status.
Infection Control & Safety
- Ensure infection control and hygiene guidelines and codes are adhered to and applied.
- Disinfect clinical surfaces and equipment at the beginning of the day and after each patient.
- Closely follow infection control guidelines for managing patients and their body fluids.
- Bring used instruments to dirty utility rooms.
Stock & Equipment Management
- Ensure infection control and hygiene guidelines are maintained.
- Manage stock levels and readiness of all medical equipment and consumable materials needed in the clinics.
- Monitor stocks of consumable material to ensure uninterrupted supply.
- Keep an inventory of medical equipment.
Supervisory & Team Leadership
- Lead the nursing team during any allotted span of duty.
- Orient newly recruited nurses to the organization.
- Ensure the availability of the required nursing workforce on a daily basis.
- Supervise the work of registered nurses.
- Perform annual appraisals for nurses.
- Work together with the medical director to ensure quality patient care.
- Serve as a member of the community advisory committee.
Paperwork & Documentation
- Take responsibility for paperwork related to patient care and clinical operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a recognized nursing college.
- Five years of post-graduation nursing experience.
- Two years of experience as a nurse manager in a clinical setting.
Skills & Competencies
- Healthcare Information System proficiency.
- English fluency in speaking and writing.
- Arabic fluency in speaking and writing.
Additional Information
- Work Environment: 100% indoors.
- Working Days: Six working days per week.
- Days Off: One day off per week.
- Working Hours: Eight net working hours according to shift schedule approved by head of department.
- Additional duties may be assigned by the manager based on business need.
