NDT Technician - Trainee (UAE National)

Role Overview

NDT Technician - Trainee position with Oceaneering in the UAE. This role is specifically for UAE Nationals with a Family Book.

Role Purpose

To perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques on components, pipework and structural assemblies to assess compliance with applicable specifications and acceptance criteria. NDT training shall be undertaken during the secondment period in accordance with SNT-TC-1A requirements, with advancement to SNT Level II to follow upon satisfactory completion of on-site experience.

Key Responsibilities

Testing & Inspection

• Undertake Visual Testing [VT], Ultrasonic Testing [UT], Magnetic Particle Testing [MT], Penetrant Testing [PT], Radiographic Testing [RT], and Eddy Current Testing [ET] techniques on components requiring inspection.
• Ensure inspection is undertaken within the parameters of the applicable specification.
• Evaluate results of tests in accordance with applicable specification.
• Produce clear and concise reports detailing the methods used, results of inspection, and all findings, noting any limitations or test restrictions as applicable.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure that work area is safe to carry out NDT activities.
• Undertake Risk Assessments/Take 2 as required.
• Execute work in accordance with Oceaneering Health, Safety, Security, Environmental and Quality Systems.
• Ensure full understanding and adherence to both Oceaneering and Client Safety Policies and Procedures, as far as reasonably practicable to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
• Carry out all duties in compliance with Oceaneering's Health, Safety, Security, Environmental and Quality (HSSEQ) Management Systems.

Equipment & Operations

• Perform routine equipment and consumable function tests to ensure everything is in good working order.
• Report any issues directly to supervision.
• Undertake work in a timely and efficient manner to meet deadlines, changing priorities when the situation requires.
• Undertake work in accordance with Oceaneering and Client operating procedures and statutory/client specifications and requirements.

Sustainability & Management

• Execute assigned tasks with diligence and in alignment with the Company's Integrated Management System (IMS).
• Actively contribute to environmental sustainability by minimizing waste, promoting the use of environmentally friendly materials and practices, and supporting continuous environmental improvement initiatives.
• Undertake any other duties of a reasonable nature as required by Oceaneering Management.
• Assist with any other duties as directed by Oceaneering Management.
• Undertake specific projects as directed by Oceaneering Management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Essential)

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and other Windows-based applications (Essential)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (Essential)
• Flexible and collaborative approach, with the ability to foster a team-oriented mindset for effective problem-solving (Essential)
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills (Preferred)
