Munitions Inspector

Role Overview

Munitions Inspector with Amentum, supporting U.S. Air Force operations at assigned sites.

Role Purpose

To receive, store, inspect, test, transport and maintain U.S. Air Force munitions, Munitions Material Handling Equipment and supporting resources while ensuring compliance with Performance Work Statement requirements and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System standards.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

• Consistently observe and enforce all USAF and host nation explosives safety, AFOSH and security standards during all explosives and non-explosives operations in assigned sites and temporary duty locations.
• Prepare and deliver general explosives safety briefings for all explosives operations.
• Ensure all munitions work is conducted according to established quality processes.
• Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed.

Inspections & Certification

• Inspect munitions and containers in accordance with 11A-1-10 and applicable technical directives.
• Inspect and certify munitions brass, residue and containers in accordance with 11A-1-60.
• Inspect, operate and perform operator maintenance on light vehicles and handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and manual hoists.
• Inspect and operate electronic test equipment, metal strapping equipment, stencil machines, heat sealers, pneumatic paint guns, air compressors and power tools.
• Inspect and perform minor maintenance on facilities and installed equipment.

Operations & Systems

• Operate Theater Integrated Combat Munitions Systems (TICMS) and MC2 as applicable to Site's processes.
• Accurately document all serviceability and accountability actions in a timely manner.
• Conduct warehouse inventories and correct any discrepancies.
• Perform munitions storage actions according to stringent explosives standards.
• Recondition, repair and replace defective or missing parts of munitions containers.

Maintenance & Facilities

• Clean vehicles, equipment and facilities.
• Perform entry-controller duties as required.

Supervision & Coordination

• Supervise Other Country National Munitions Workforce while providing clear instructions about the work.
• Work closely with operations personnel to resolve any serviceability and accountability issues noted during inspection processes.
• Up-channel any issues impacting munitions operations to Munitions Control and Superintendent.
• Provide support to assigned custody accounts of deployed forces.

Emergency Response

• Take necessary control and ensure timely response actions during emergencies.

Additional Duties

• Work necessary hours, including stand-by duties, to support mission requirements during peacetime and combat contingencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum four years of experience with Military Munitions.
• Completed formal USAF Munitions Systems training or US Service equivalent.
• Intermediate knowledge of the USAF Supply, TMO Munitions and Tech Order systems or US service equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance; US Citizenship is required to obtain Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience as USAF Munitions Inspector and award of Special Experience Identifier (SEI) Code 836.
• Working knowledge of all munitions functional areas.
• Intermediate knowledge of MC2 and other information systems.
• USAF munitions storage, maintenance, control and inspection procedures experience.
• TICMS, MC2, TMRS and IMDS/DPAS M&U for Munitions and MMHE experience.
• CCAF degree in Munitions Management.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficient in the use of personal computers and Windows Operating System.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Power Point, Excel and Word programs.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment.
• Valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license.
• Normal color perception and depth of vision.
• Physically capable of lifting, pushing and pulling minimum of 50 lbs.

Additional Information

• May be required to work in normal office and maintenance shop or warehouse environment and outdoors for extended periods.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
