Munitions Foreman

Role Overview

Munitions Foreman at Amentum. This is a senior crew member role overseeing receipts, storage, inspection, transport and maintenance of U.S. Air Force (USAF) Munitions and supporting resources at assigned sites.

Role Purpose

Supervise munitions operations, ensure compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS), and maintain all USAF and host nation explosives safety, AFOSH and security standards during munitions and non-explosives operations.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

• Consistently observe and enforce all USAF and host nation explosives safety, AFOSH and security standards during all explosives and non-explosives operations in assigned sites and temporary duty locations.
• Prepare and deliver general and explosives safety briefings.
• Ensure compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).
• Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed.

Operations & Supervision

• Supervise any assigned Munitions Technicians.
• Perform the duties of the Munitions Supervisors in their absence.
• Monitor multiple operations and ensure work is carried out in accordance with priorities, goals and schedules.
• Interface and coordinate between Crew Members and Munitions Supervisors.
• Evaluate technical skills of crew members for conformance to established standards and provide required training as necessary.
• Perform entry-controller duties as required.
• Work necessary hours, to include stand-by duties, to support mission requirements during peacetime and contingency operations.

Munitions Handling & Maintenance

• Recondition, repair and replace defective or missing parts of munitions and containers.
• Perform munitions storage and maintenance actions according to stringent explosives standards.
• Prepare and configure munitions shipments for air, sea and surface transportation.
• Upload and download trucks with incoming and outgoing munitions shipments.
• Transport munitions to and from flightline holding areas and to support daily operations within the department, if qualified.
• Assist in inspecting munitions in accordance with 11A-1-10 and applicable technical orders.
• Assist in inspecting munitions brass, residue and containers in accordance with 11A-1-60 as directed.

Inventory & Quality

• Conduct warehouse inventories and correct any discrepancies.
• Work closely with operations personnel to resolve any serviceability and accountability issues noted during warehouse operations.
• Conduct all munitions work according to established quality processes, identify potential problems and recommend solutions.

Systems & Equipment Operation

• Operate Theater Integrated Combat Munitions Systems (TICMS) as applicable to Site's processes.
• Operate MC2.
• Inspect, operate and perform user maintenance on light vehicles and handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and manual hoists.
• Inspect and operate metal strapping equipment, stencil machines, heat sealers, pneumatic paint guns, air compressors and power tools.
• Inspect and perform minor maintenance on facilities and installed equipment.
• Clean vehicles, equipment and facilities.

Communication & Escalation

• Up-channel any issues impacting munitions operations to Munitions Control and Superintendent.
• Take necessary control and ensure timely response actions during emergencies.

General Duties

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work in normal office and maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum four years experience with Military Munitions.
• Intermediate knowledge of the USAF Supply, TMO, Munitions and Tech Order systems or US service equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain Secret Clearance.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in the use of personal computers and Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office to include as a minimum Power Point, Excel and Word programs.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment.
• Valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license.
• Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting, pushing and pulling minimum of 50 lbs.
• Normal color perception and depth of vision.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Additional Information

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of all munitions functional areas.
• Intermediate knowledge of MC2 and other information systems.
• USAF munitions storage, maintenance, control and inspection procedures experience.
• TICMS, MC2, TMRS and IMDS/DPAS M&U for Munitions and MMHE experience.
• Minimum two years Munitions Crew Chief experience.
• Intermediate experience in the operations of forklifts and tractor trailers.
• CCAF degree in Munitions Management.
