Role Overview
Munitions Controller at Amentum. The role is responsible for planning, scheduling and monitoring the maintenance of War Reserve Materiel live, inert and dummy munitions, non-powered munitions support equipment, handling equipment, and facility inspection requirements.
Role Purpose
To execute and oversee command-and-control actions of ongoing explosive operations while ensuring compliance with contractual Performance Work Statement requirements and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System standards.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
- Provide broad oversight of the Munitions Department's routine and contingency planning, workload and production scheduling according to contractual responsibilities.
- Prepare consolidated yearly, quarterly, monthly munitions maintenance and inspection forecasts and weekly munitions maintenance and inspection schedules.
- Coordinate with munitions accountability and maintenance supply liaison on all Technical Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) requirements.
- Plans, schedules and coordinates all TCTO requirements with relevant departments.
- Review awaiting maintenance (AWM), awaiting parts (AWP) and TCTO programs weekly during the scheduling meeting.
- Attend the Site's TCTO planning and reconciliation meetings for munitions assets and equipment.
- Evaluate demands when received and translate requirements into prioritized support of the AEW AMMO Flight, informing Munitions Superintendent of any scheduling conflicts.
Operations & Monitoring
- Oversee facilities, equipment, vehicle and munitions resource status, capabilities and limitations that may impact mission accomplishment.
- Operate Munitions Information Systems (MIS) including TICMS to determine status of explosives assets and facilities.
- Perform direct input in TICMS/MC2 and ensure documents are routed in accordance with document flow procedures.
- Perform required actions in TICMS utilizing the "Receiver" role.
- Track work progress of explosive operations to maintain status of the workforce.
- Maintain the delayed discrepancy file (AWM/AWP) on munitions items and equipment.
- Manage awaiting maintenance (AWM), awaiting parts (AWP) and TCTO programs in coordination with Section supervisors.
Command, Control & Coordination
- Use Munitions Information Systems data for planning, scheduling and command/control actions in the MC2 system.
- Establish and maintain clear channels of communication and coordination with AEW AF.
- Attend monthly, weekly and other scheduling meetings with the AEW Munitions Flight and incorporate required support in the department's workload planning schedule.
- Coordinate with Munitions Accountability Section regarding status of actions taken for approved ADRs and scheduled dates of disposal/shipment.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain and use Emergency Action Check sheets to include war/contingency plan execution notification, crash, fire, severe weather and explosive mishaps.
- Notify supporting activities before starting hazardous operations or evacuation/fire drills.
- Notify the Fire Department of any hazard class division 1.1 explosives movements outside the MSA or of changes in magazine contents affecting fire symbols or hazard symbols and document notification.
- Manage keys and locks in accordance with AFMAN 21-200 for control of munitions structure keys.
- Manage Munitions Storage Area (MSA) Owner/User responsibilities outlined in DAFI 31-101.
- Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed.
- Ensure compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).
Reporting & Administration
- Promptly inform Munitions Superintendent of problems and limiting factors.
- Consolidate data for recurring reports and prepare them for submission to the Munitions Superintendent.
- Perform entry-controller duties as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Four years of experience with Military Munitions.
- Intermediate knowledge of USAF Supply, TMO, Munitions and Tech Order systems or US Service equivalent.
- Intermediate knowledge of munitions control and scheduling processes and procedures.
- Preferred working knowledge of all munitions functional areas.
- Preferred experience with USAF munitions storage, maintenance, control and inspection procedures.
Skills & Competencies
- Intermediate capability to adapt to stress and to speak in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficient in the use of personal computers and Windows Operating System.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including at a minimum Power Point, Excel and Word.
- Preferred intermediate knowledge of MC2 and other information systems.
- Preferred experience with TICMS, MC2, TMRS and IMDS/DPAS M&U for Munitions and MMHE.
- May be required to operate material handling equipment.
Additional Information
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. US Citizenship is required to obtain Secret Clearance.
- Must possess a valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license.
- Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting, pushing and pulling minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must have normal color perception and depth of vision.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Work necessary hours, to include stand-by duties, to support mission requirements during peacetime and combat contingencies.
- Works in normal office and maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.
