Role Overview

Multi-Skilled Helper at wasl (Viya), Dubai Golf – Lake Management. Reports to the Lake Management Specialist.

Role Purpose

The Multi-Skilled Helper performs routine manual labour involved in lake maintenance and on-course water features under the supervision of the Lake Management Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

Lake and Water Feature Maintenance

• Routinely inspect lakes for debris and remove.
• Perform shore sand removal and debris cleanup by manual methods and using various tools and equipment.
• Dig and backfill excavations.
• Prune reeds and shrubs around lakes.
• Collect and remove dead fish and algal wastes.
• Open clogged basket strainers and clean rocks for clear stream flows.
• Patrol the full lakes facilities during working hours to respond to urgent issues in water bodies.
• Report serious impacts of changes in water colours.

Equipment and Machinery Operation

• Operate hand machinery and equipment during periods of preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Support light equipment and handheld tool operation as required.
• Operate boats in connection with assigned activities.
• Perform fish transfer and netting activities as assigned.

Materials and Equipment Management

• Load and unload the pick-up.
• Unpack and store supplies and equipment in stockrooms, storerooms, or warehouses.
• Take proper care of material, supplies, and equipment.
• Perform tool sharpening, installing, repairing, and painting.
• Assist in erecting and dismantling works.
• Move tanks and equipment on site.

Project and Landscaping Support

• Help in project work and landscaping.
• Perform various manual labour tasks requiring some specialized skills to assist in the work of skilled co-workers for lakes and streams maintenance activities.

Safety, Compliance and Reporting

• Adhere to Dubai Golf health and safety practices.
• Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries to the duty In Charge.
• Always follow safety rules and regulations at work.
• Ensure the general cleanliness of the work site and adjacent golf grounds.
• Read, understand, and comply with all applicable Information Security Policies and Procedures of wasl DG.
• Cooperate, coordinate, and share information with Internal and External Audit teams as appropriate and applicable.
• Attend Information Security Awareness sessions conducted by the wasl IT Department.
• Immediately report all Information Security breaches, events, weaknesses, and incidents (actual or suspected) to the IT Service Desk.

Communication and Team Engagement

• Attend departmental briefings and regular communication meetings.
• Perform any duties as assigned and/or required by immediate supervisor or management.
• Represent the department or a group in various committees, such as the Staff Committee, Green Theme (environmental), Food Committee, or Sport Committee.
• Participate in various extra activities contributing towards individual and organizational growth as part of the Club's continuous improvement efforts.

Additional Responsibilities

• Be trained as a Fire Marshall or First Aider as requested.

Qualifications & Experience

• School Leaver's Certificate or further education.
• Working experience with sports turf.
• Working experience with large teams.
• Experience using machines.
• Knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Knowledge of lake maintenance.
