Role Overview
Merchandise Planning & Inventory position at Landmark Group, focused on managing product assortments, demand forecasting, and inventory optimization within the beauty and cosmetics retail sector.
Role Purpose
Own the end-to-end merchandise planning and inventory management function to balance optimal stock levels with sales targets, minimize waste, and ensure product availability across all distribution channels.
Key Responsibilities
Assortment & Demand Planning
- Curate and plan optimal product assortments tailored to target demographics and current trends in the beauty and cosmetics market.
- Utilize historical sales data and seasonal trends to accurately predict future demand.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including sell-through rates, margin contributions, and fast-moving SKUs.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Manage financial budgets and Open-To-Buy (OTB) to ensure inventory investments align directly with company sales targets.
Inventory Control & Optimization
- Maintain optimal inventory levels across warehouses and retail shelves to prevent stock-outs or overstocking.
- Streamline automatic replenishment processes based on turnover rates and lead times.
Audit & Compliance
- Conduct regular audits, monitor stock adjustments, and resolve discrepancies in the inventory management system.
- Monitor shrinkage and variance control.
Supply Chain Coordination
- Collaborate closely with logistics and suppliers to manage purchase orders and track shipments along the critical path.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Typically 2–5+ years of relevant planning and inventory experience, ideally within beauty, luxury, or fashion retail.
Skills & Competencies
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
- Experience with retail ERP or inventory software such as SAP or Oracle.
