MEP BIM Coordinator

Role Overview

MEP BIM Coordinator at Al Shirawi Group. The role coordinates, manages, and delivers Building Information Modeling (BIM) for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems across projects.

Role Purpose

Ensure accurate BIM models, clash-free coordination, compliance with project standards, and effective collaboration between design, construction, and stakeholder teams.

Key Responsibilities

Model Development & Coordination

• Develop, coordinate, and manage MEP BIM models (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting) in accordance with project requirements.
• Coordinate BIM activities among MEP disciplines and with architectural and structural teams.
• Ensure models comply with LOD requirements, project specifications, and client standards.

Clash Detection & Resolution

• Conduct clash detection, resolution meetings, and maintain clash-free models using Navisworks or similar tools.
• Coordinate with site teams to resolve construction issues using BIM.

Standards & Planning

• Prepare and manage BIM execution plans (BEP), BIM standards, and workflows.
• Review consultant and subcontractor BIM models for accuracy, coordination, and compliance.

Deliverables & Documentation

• Generate coordinated shop drawings, construction drawings, and as-built models.
• Maintain proper model version control, data management, and documentation.

Advanced BIM Applications

• Support quantity take-offs, scheduling (4D), and cost integration (5D) when required.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and provide technical support to project stakeholders.
