Role Purpose

To maximize company product value through high-quality scientific communication with leading specialists on a peer-to-peer basis. The Medical Science Liaison serves as a therapeutic area scientific expert in Multiple Myeloma, responsible for advancing short-term and long-term company goals through evidence-based discussions and trusted scientific partnerships with physicians, pharmacists, hospital managers, board members of scientific societies, and other healthcare partners.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Knowledge & Expertise

• Keep abreast of medical and scientific knowledge in the hematology therapeutic area.
• Continuously update knowledge of company products, patient treatment trends, and clinical activities and studies conducted globally and within the region.
• Develop deep knowledge of the hematology therapeutic area with strength in research and interpretation of medical data.

Specialist Engagement

• Develop and maintain a contact network with leading specialists.
• Understand their needs, key value drivers, practical treatment patterns, and scientific activities within the therapeutic area.
• Communicate the value of company products, including involvement in formulary discussions.
• Champion evidence-based discussions and contribute to fostering innovative approaches through scientific interactions.

Medical Communication

• Communicate directly and proactively scientific information about company products within the approved label.
• Communicate non-promotional general information about the company, including description of research and development programs.
• Respond to unsolicited scientific queries regarding approved products and products or indications in development, based on Medical Affairs and Medical Information documents.

Professional Representation

• Represent the company within therapeutic area professional associations in cooperation with the Medical Advisor, Medical Lead, or Medical Director.

Medical Education

• Build medical education programs with scientific third parties.
• Support speakers with scientific data of the highest quality for educational purposes.
• Organize and participate in advisory boards in cooperation with the Medical Advisor, Medical Lead, or Medical Director.

Sales Support

• Provide medical and product training and scientific support to sales representatives in coordination with the Training Department as appropriate.
• Act as a reference point to sales representatives for any scientific query, in collaboration with Medical Information as appropriate.

Study Support

• Support the setup and follow-up of registries and other non-interventional Medical Affairs studies.
• Propose investigators and sites for interventional and non-interventional Medical Affairs studies.
• Participate in investigator meetings preparation, recruitment follow-up, and study result presentation.
• Receive investigator proposals for investigator-initiated studies and ensure they are discussed within the Medical Affairs department for decision-making.

Business Intelligence & Planning

• Gain valuable insight into treatment patterns and scientific activities in the therapeutic area through scientific interactions.
• Provide input to the company Medical Affairs Plan and business decision-making.
• Achieve main performance measures and performance goals to drive medical data dissemination, educational and data generation initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree as a Pharmacist or Physician; postgraduate studies is an advantage.
• Two years of experience preferably within a multinational pharmaceutical company; experience working as a Medical Science Liaison is an advantage.
• Scientific acumen and communication skills in order to be accepted by leading specialists in peer-to-peer relationship.
• Relevant work experience and scientific acumen in order to be accepted by leading specialists in peer-to-peer relationship.
• Deep knowledge of the hematology therapeutic area.

Additional Information
