Role Purpose

Serve as the scientific expert and key liaison between Abbott and the medical community, providing credible scientific support, maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders and academic centers, and ensuring access to current medical and scientific information in the biosimilar therapeutic area.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Support & Expertise

• Provide scientific and technical support to key opinion leaders and academic centers to ensure access to current medical and scientific information on the relevant therapeutic area.
• Act as scientific expert in the therapeutic area and develop resources for the therapy team.
• Deliver credible presentations on scientific matters to physicians, individually or in groups, where requested.
• Provide specialist support in response to both internal and external queries to ensure prompt provision of accurate scientific and medical information, including adverse event reporting.
• Ensure up-to-date knowledge of product uses and external data through medical trainings in the relevant therapeutic area.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

• Maintain contacts with physicians and opinion leaders of the assigned geographic area to satisfy their needs for scientific knowledge in the relevant therapeutic area.
• Establish and develop relationships with medical specialist groups and medical societies to expand research, advisory, and educational partnership opportunities in selected therapeutic areas.
• Participate in the selection process to identify appropriately qualified physicians and key opinion leaders for collaborative efforts, ensuring high levels of scientific or educational integrity.

Medical Affairs & Projects

• Provide assistance on special projects including medical affairs, continuing medical education, advisory boards, key opinion leader development, scientific reviews, local clinical trials, and investigator clinical meetings.
• Upon request, assist physicians to appropriately direct requests for access to Company products on a named patient or compassionate use basis, subject to all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Provide key opinion leaders and internal medical and clinical teams with scientific and technical support for publications of scientific or medical interest.

Market Intelligence & Internal Support

• Develop awareness and understanding of competitor issues and intelligence, including product strategies, studies, commercial messages, and positioning, and communicate where appropriate within the Company.
• Attend relevant scientific societies meetings and conferences, and develop summaries of key messages for use within the Company, including key areas of scientific or company interest and new trends in diagnosis, monitoring, and treatments.
• Support sales, marketing, and internal team areas to develop their scientific and technical expertise through delivery of scientific update presentations.

• Ensure that all activities and interactions are conducted with due regard to all applicable local, global, and national laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, Company policies, and accepted standards of best practice.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in medicine or pharmacy.
• Saudi Commission for Health Specialists (SCHS) license.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role in biological or biosimilar products, with focus on oncology, immunology, or hematology.
