Role Purpose

Supervise and manage sub-contractor construction activities to proceed effectively in accordance with project specifications under safe conditions. Provide supervision of site activities based on drawings and work schedules, with emphasis on priorities, quality, safety and progress management.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision & Sub-contractor Management

• Supervise, manage and support sub-contractors to proceed with construction effectively in accordance with project specification under safe conditions.
• Deal and communicate with sub-contractors prior to work schedule.
• Supervise and ensure safe conditions at construction site in cooperation with safety department.
• Supervise and ensure construction quality in accordance with project specification and ITP (Inspection and Test Plan).

Planning & Coordination

• Review drawings and P&IDs.
• Prepare construction Method Statement (M/S) based on specification and requirements.
• Prepare 3-weeks construction plan.
• Plan and coordinate all work related activities.
• Coordinate with other disciplines or departments to resolve interface issues.
• Coordinate the activity between external and internal stakeholders, especially client.
• Arrange materials and tools required for specific jobs.
• Ensure necessary construction drawings and materials in advance of construction implementation.

Mechanical Supervision & Technical Assessment

• Assist with equipment vendor coordination and preparation of work front and manpower.
• Assess and review technical proposals for mechanical upgrades or new equipment and their process integration.
• Monitor the performance, failures, and serviceability of all mechanical plant, associated mechanical control systems and equipment.
• Prepare for any Site Instruction if needed.
• Coordinate with inspector for any mechanical inspection.

Quality, Inspection & Documentation

• Schedule for clearing MCWD punches.
• Review Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
• Prepare and review rigging and lifting plan.
• Monitor and check daily activities.
• Manage construction progress by checking daily, weekly and monthly work done quantities.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly construction reports.
• Record Best Practice (B/P) and Lessons Learned (L/L).
• Prepare Preservation.

Compliance & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work competently with auditors, regulatory bodies, external verifiers, and third parties.
• Report on activities undertaken.

Qualifications & Experience

• Construction experience in oil/gas/petrochemical or power plants as supervisor.
• Experience from Construction stage until Commissioning/Start-up.
• Experience with oil/gas/petrochemical or power plants equipment as supervisor.
• Engineering and Construction Company working experience in Middle East is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Comprehensive knowledge on construction management and engineering standards.
• Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Computer application ability (MS Office).
• Knowledge of assembling and disassembling of rotating machines and troubleshooting work.
• Excellent communications and leadership qualities.
• Rotating equipment supervision.
• Stationary equipment supervision.
• Tank construction and supervision.
• Heavy rigging.
• Heavy infrastructure.
• Package vendor items (skid type).
• Commissioning Mechanical (MRT, solo Run Test, Oil Flushing).
• Punch schedule target date management (for closing).
