Role Overview
Mechanical Inspector at AECOM. The role is based on a construction project site where you will oversee mechanical systems installation and compliance.

Role Purpose
The Mechanical Inspector ensures that all mechanical systems installation and construction work complies with contract documents, specifications, standards, and health and safety requirements through systematic observation, measurement, testing, documentation, and quality assurance monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
Contract & Documentation Review
- Review and understand package contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures together with any associated updates.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure contractors comply with contract standards and specifications through observation, measurements, and testing.
- Track quality assurance progress across assigned areas.
- Monitor conformance to quality, performance, and code requirements by performing inspection duties.
- Apply and implement all quality controls and quality procedures of the site.
Site Supervision & Inspection
- Undertake all site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
- Document contractor personnel and equipment, activities observed, location of activities, reason for activities, and means and methods utilised in assigned areas.
- Report on materials delivery.
- Prepare any site measurements and surveying checks needed by the leader.
Resource & Activity Tracking
- Maintain records of contractor manpower and equipment daily resources.
Site Instructions & Safety
- Follow up and implement any site instructions made by the leader.
- Monitor health and safety of the construction works and report on violations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in mechanical inspection, quality assurance, or related roles within building construction projects.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Skills & Competencies
- Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and related building systems.
