Role Overview
Mechanical Inspector (STMC) at SEHA. This role is responsible for supervising daily maintenance operations, subcontractor activities, and facility inspections to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards and organizational requirements.
Role Purpose
Undertake and document routine site inspections to ensure that maintenance and sub-contracted works are completed as per the specified scope of works and contractual requirements. Monitor day-to-day activities, manage contractor performance, oversee minor projects, and resolve technical issues to support smooth facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Quality Assurance
- Undertake and document routine site inspections to ensure maintenance and sub-contracted work is carried out as per specified scope of work and contractual requirements.
- Carry out site visits and inspections as required.
- Regularly inspect new construction and facility projects.
- Inspect facility areas on a regular basis to ensure all services are properly maintained.
- Carry out quality assurance checks.
- Oversee quality control and safety matters and ensure regulations are adhered to.
Contractor & Staff Supervision
- Monitor day-to-day activities of sub-contracted works and staff.
- Manage the day-to-day performance of contractors.
- Supervise and monitor site labor force and monitor the work of outsourced firms.
- Review work schedules of subcontracted staff to ensure appropriate coverage of preventative and routine maintenance.
- Relay information to subcontracted staff as directed by Engineer.
Operations & Project Management
- Directly oversee minor projects works.
- Assist (where directed) in the execution of works undertaken by external contractors and consultancy personnel.
- Ensure works are carried out with minimum disruption and inconvenience to patients and staff.
- Ensure workshops are kept safe and tidy and related staff adhere to safety and departmental policies and procedures.
Testing & Technical Analysis
- Design and conduct necessary site tests.
- Record, analyze, and interpret test data.
- Propose modifications and re-test products as necessary.
- Conduct installation, troubleshooting, and shutdown of relevant equipment in accordance with SEHA safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown.
- Monitor performance of existing equipment and systems to improve future design recommendations.
- Prepare audit reports as necessary.
Communication & Issue Resolution
- Respond in a timely manner to issues that are outside of routine operations and raise them to appropriate leaders.
- Suggest solutions to issues or problems and seek appropriate authorization to proceed.
- Relay information to the end user as appropriate related to preventative, routine, or problem resolution activities.
- Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise, and escalate to the Engineer when appropriate.
Compliance & Team Contribution
- Ensure all activities are in line with SEHA's policies and procedures.
- Participate in all team efforts as required.
- Collaborate with other members of the team to carry out work smoothly.
Qualifications & Experience
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in a similar industry.
- Desired: Experience in a large healthcare facility.
