Mechanical Inspector - Omanization

Role Overview

Mechanical Inspector – Omanization at HILL International. This role is based on-site and responsible for inspecting and monitoring mechanical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.

Role Purpose

Conduct site inspections of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems, verify installation quality, identify non-conformances, and coordinate with contractors and consultants to ensure works are executed safely and in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Systems Inspection

• Inspect installation of HVAC systems, ductwork, chillers, AHUs, and exhaust systems.
• Verify installation of plumbing and drainage lines, pumps, and valves.
• Oversee firefighting installations, including sprinkler systems and fire pumps.

Compliance and Verification

• Ensure installations are in line with shop drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Review mechanical inspection readiness (IRs) and confirm works are ready for inspection.
• Identify and report defective or non-compliant mechanical works (NCRs).

Testing and Commissioning

• Witness testing and commissioning of systems, including pressure tests, flow rates, and BMS functionality.
• Support final testing, commissioning, and snagging processes.

Coordination and Documentation

• Coordinate with electrical and structural inspectors during MEP coordination.
• Maintain accurate records of inspection activities and material verifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager or supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of mechanical inspection experience in large-scale or recreational projects.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems integration, testing procedures, and mechanical standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA).
• Experience with pool systems, filtration, and ride hydraulics is an advantage.
