Master Planning Monitoring & Reporting Engineer

Role Overview

Master Planning Monitoring & Reporting Engineer at HILL International. The role focuses on designing, managing, and monitoring water supply and wastewater systems in urban areas, with responsibility for developing plans, conducting feasibility studies, and producing performance reports.

Role Purpose

To design and manage water supply and wastewater systems in urban areas, develop integrated engineering solutions for water distribution networks, sewage collection and treatment systems, stormwater management, and water resource management. Ensure safe and efficient water supply, environmental sustainability, regulatory compliance, and effective stakeholder coordination throughout urban development projects.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Design

• Develop plans for water distribution networks, sewage collection and treatment systems, stormwater management, and water resource management.
• Analyze existing conditions, assess needs and demands, and develop engineering solutions that optimize functionality and sustainability.
• Analyze and plan the layout and distribution of wet infrastructure systems within urban areas.
• Consider factors such as population density, land use patterns, and transportation demands to determine optimal placement and design of infrastructure elements.
• Coordinate infrastructure design with road networks, public transportation, utility systems, and other essential services.

Feasibility & Environmental Assessment

• Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability and practicality of urban development projects.
• Evaluate environmental impact, economic feasibility, technical constraints, and regulatory compliance factors.
• Assess the potential environmental impact of urban development projects.
• Evaluate air and water pollution, habitat disruption, and energy consumption.
• Develop strategies and recommendations to minimize negative environmental effects and promote sustainable development practices.

Compliance & Regulatory

• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and standards.
• Review project designs, specifications, and construction plans to meet required standards for safety, accessibility, and environmental impact.
• Work closely with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals for urban development projects.

Monitoring & Reporting

• Collect master plans data and produce related reports.
• Develop KPIs in relation to strategic planning and monitor the performance of regional clusters based on these KPIs.
• Prepare high-quality performance reports.
• Use data analysis and modelling techniques to assess and predict the performance of urban infrastructure systems.
• Analyze data related to population growth, traffic patterns, energy consumption, and other relevant factors to inform planning decisions.
• Optimize the design and operation of infrastructure systems based on data analysis.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Collaborate with various stakeholders, including urban planners, architects, developers, government agencies, and community members.
• Work together to develop integrated solutions that meet the needs and aspirations of urban communities.
• Provide technical expertise and contribute to coordination of project implementation.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all parties involved.

• Inform yourself of relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals and Procedures within HILL International.
• Ensure continued compliance with these requirements while employed by HILL International.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager or supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Engineering or Urban Planning from an accredited university.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in related field.
• Experience in the master planning of water and wastewater services.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to collect master plans data and produce related reports.
• Ability to develop KPIs in relation to strategic planning and monitor performance based on these KPIs.
• Proficiency in data analysis and modelling techniques.
• Fluent communication in Arabic and English.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
