Manager-Planning

Role Overview

Manager - Planning at Transguard Group, Transport Team, located at DAFZA, Dubai Airport Free Zone.

Role Purpose

Oversee the planning function within Transguard Group, managing route planning and execution for the transport and delivery business unit. Act as the primary planning function for a fleet of 2000 vehicles transporting approximately 40,000 staff daily, and own all fleet-related technology platforms including Power BI, planning systems, GPS, telematics, and CRM.

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Optimization

• Optimize route planning for transport of Transguard staff to and from work locations.
• Advise on budgetary requirements and strategic initiatives to optimize efficiency, cost, and on-time metrics.
• Produce reporting for planned versus actual, fleet, kilometers, and utilization against budget.
• Support strategic optimization of accommodation allocation of Transguard fleet and accommodations relative to work locations.
• Manage TMS vendors and overall SLA to ensure continuity of service to Transguard.
• Sit on weekly and monthly scorecard reviews presenting summary and contingent actions.

Reporting & Customer Management

• Manage the centralized reporting hub for all business unit reports.
• Manage reporting of all daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc GPS reports for driver, vehicle, and depot.
• Provide monthly business unit SLA report and review actions.
• Lead a team of analysts responsible for publishing plans and managing route execution using software and supporting operations in generation of all business unit GPS reports for driver, vehicle, and depot daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting requirements.
• Oversee and proactively improve communications through systemized solutions ensuring all customers are notified of changes to planned outputs and provide mitigation plans where practicable.

Planning & Process

• Work closely with demand planning for evaluation of roster accuracy and validation.
• Oversee entire business planning function including communication of plan to all stakeholders (DOC, TCC, AOC, SOC, all operational business units).
• Work closely with GPS vendor to develop reporting both within GPS system and within Transguard Power BI or equivalent.
• Work closely with fleet team to improve servicing, planning, and execution for Transguard own fleet.
• Conduct business continuity planning and risk analysis.
• Support analysis and planning for headcount increase and decrease to ensure fleet remains viable and cost effective.

Innovation & Technology

• Work closely with technology partners to create and deliver a 3-year road map incorporating modern logistics technologies, AI, advanced planning, reporting, and supporting delivery of a centralized control room.
• Keep up to date on emerging opportunities for optimization and prepare business cases to assess potential value versus investment.
• Engage with Transguard Workshops to ensure GPS system is linked to the Workshops DMS for smooth planning.
• Support business unit in all ad hoc report requirements.
• Manage development of TMS system within the business unit including internal and external enhancements to systems.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor degree in engineering, logistics, or similar field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience with TMS background.
• Paragon experience.
