Role Overview
Manager Legal at Emarat (Emirates General Petroleum). This role is based in the UAE and reports to the General Counsel, providing legal, compliance, and corporate governance advisory across the business.
Role Purpose
Support the General Counsel in delivering legal, compliance, and corporate governance advisory across the business, ensuring strong risk management and full alignment with UAE regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory & Contracting
- Provide legal advice on contracts, corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters.
- Review and draft agreements to safeguard the organization's interests.
- Advise on environmental, regulatory, and intellectual property matters.
Risk & Dispute Management
- Manage legal risks related to new business initiatives and operations.
- Handle contract disputes through negotiation, mediation, or arbitration.
Compliance & Governance
- Promote compliance with anti-bribery, AML, and ethical standards.
External & Government Relations
- Support legal proceedings and liaise with government authorities and external counsel.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in legal advisory, preferably within regulated sectors.
- Strong knowledge of UAE laws, compliance frameworks, and corporate governance.
- Legal translation certification is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
- Proven ability to manage complex legal matters and stakeholder relationships.
