Role Overview
Manager - Fleet at Al Ghurair. This role manages all fleet services from purchase to sale of asset, requiring a blend of technical, organizing, and administrative skills.
Role Purpose
Efficiently manage all Fleet Business as Usual and day-to-day activities in a methodical manner. Set objectives and achieve incremental progress against each. Implement operational strategies, adopting best industry practices and continuous improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Contribute to technical assessment of scope and KPIs with workshops and stakeholders.
- Define scope of all relevant contracts in line with contextual strategic initiatives.
- Define standards for parameters including asset performance, maintenance trends, and similar comparisons.
- Assist in preparing the annual maintenance budget and tracking expenses against forecasts.
- Drive initiatives related to cost saving and efficiency enhancement.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance to policies and regulatory requirements in line with directives of SVP Fleet.
- Audit stakeholders against critical parameters, especially those critical to Business Continuity Planning.
- Implement approved policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls.
Operations & Performance
- Ensure average Work In Progress in Fleet's custody is less than 1.5% of total fleet.
- Ensure measures are in place to limit quality rejections to less than 1% of total throughput.
- Ensure measures are in place to monitor spare parts inventory management.
- Ensure measures are in place to monitor seamless end-to-end data capture.
- Manage Master Data and conduct periodic reviews.
- Ensure sanity in documentation of end-to-end vehicle on-boarding and off-boarding process.
- Manage mechanical maintenance, accident repair, insurance claims and negotiations.
- Manage vendor relationships.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Drive and monitor SLA and KPI documentation of self and team.
- Report insights from regular analytical reports and ground reality.
- Maintain relationship management with internal stakeholders and provide effective reporting.
Process Improvement
- Process re-engineering related to supplier settlements and approvals, data retention and accuracy, and modus of operandi.
- Assess and contribute to continuous improvement of ERP from fleet context, working closely with IT Business Partner.
People Management
- Set performance goals at the beginning of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensure that goals are achieved during the course of the year.
- Identify training and development requirements for self and team to ensure ongoing capability development.
- Strive to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all competencies and skills required to perform the role.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering (preferred and minimum requirement).
- Minimum 5 years in Fleet management role.
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role handling Mechanical and Body Repair shop.
Skills & Competencies
- Automobile technical knowledge (knowledge of hybrid systems is an added advantage).
- Knowledge of body repair and basic on-board diagnostics functionalities, terms and remedies.
- Advanced knowledge of MS-Office Tools, especially Excel and Outlook.
