Role Overview
Manager – BI Development at Majid Al Futtaim, MAF Retail Corporate Head Office, UAE. Responsible for designing, executing, and delivering end-to-end business intelligence and automation solutions in close collaboration with business functions and data engineers.

Role Purpose
To design, execute, and deliver end-to-end business intelligence and automation solutions aligned with MAF Retail's BI delivery and insights roadmap, ensuring compliance with governance standards and driving actionable business outcomes through data analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Business Intelligence Strategy & Design
- Lead Business Intelligence projects through design, execution, and delivery phases.
- Ensure compliance and consistency with MAFR BI delivery standards and data governance.
- Lead collaboration with MAFR Functions to identify key business challenges and develop business intelligence and data analytics solutions.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery.
- Redesign infrastructure for greater scalability.
Data Architecture & Governance
- Lead MAFR BI RLS, PLS, and OLS design and architecture.
- Ensure complete automated execution flow through close cooperation with Data-Engineering and Data Architecture teams.
- Co-design with the Cloud Architecture team a unified framework for XMLA (read/write) including policy and procedures.
- Ensure governance compliance, quality, and seamless process for frequent data read/update on all platforms.
- Lead the development and maintenance of MAFR Business Intelligence glossary book for all BI activities, including KPIs, measures, variables, tables, views, dimensions, and naming conventions.
Power BI Development & Operations
- Supervise the design, development, maintenance, and real-time update of Power BI workspaces, applications, datasets, flows, dashboards, and reports.
- Monitor CI/CD and governance compliance.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
Analytics & Data Quality
- Utilize advanced SQL, DAX, and M techniques to extract insights from large datasets.
- Run regular quality checks to ensure maintaining the minimum data quality threshold.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical discipline.
- 7+ years in a senior BI developer role in an international environment, creating and building complex BI solutions at enterprise level, including analyses and evaluation tools for assessing and tracking performance and learning associated user behaviors.
- 2+ years in retail/FMCG business preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in statistical programming languages: R, Python, SQL.
- Strong experience with visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI, supporting data dashboarding and reporting.
- Advanced knowledge of algorithm and modeling techniques: Logistic Regression, Linear Regression, Clustering, Decision Trees, Random Forest, SVM, KNN.
- Advanced SQL, DAX, and M techniques.
