Role Overview

Malayalam Linguist II – Malayalam Speaking and Reading Interpreter / Translator at Amentum, supporting U.S. military operations in Kuwait.

Company Overview

Amentum serves the intelligence community and U.S. military globally. Linguists will support operations OCONUS as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in assigned areas of responsibility.

Role Purpose

Provide operational contract linguist support for military operations, delivering a range of translation and interpretation services in Malayalam. Contribute cultural perspective and understanding of the region's historical, political, sociological, and economic trends to select members of senior leadership staff.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Interpretation

• Provide operational contract linguist support for military operations.
• Interpret during interviews, meetings, and conferences.
• Work shifts and extended hours in support of 24 x 7 operations.

Analysis & Research

• Transcribe and analyze verbal communications.
• Scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents for key information.

Translation Services

• Supply a variety of translation and interpretation services for Malayalam.

Qualifications & Experience

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must hold a current U.S. passport (or apply as soon as accepted into the program).
• Must possess Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) proficiency level 3 in Malayalam.
• Must possess ILR proficiency level 2+ in English based on oral and written language skills examination.
• Must possess excellent command of Malayalam and English verbal skills.

• Excellent English skills.
• Excellent command of Malayalam verbal skills.
• Ability to conduct oneself in accordance with local culture and customs.

Additional Information

• Must be willing to work in Kuwait.
• Must be willing to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance for access to classified information.
• Must undergo medical examination.
