Maintenance Technician (Electrician)

Role Overview

Maintenance Technician (Electrician) at Hempel, based in Sharjah, UAE. This role reports to the Maintenance Engineer.

Role Purpose

You will be responsible for the upkeep of plant equipment and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance to improve productivity of manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Maintenance

• Maintain upkeep of plant equipment and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to improve productivity of manufacturing facilities.
• Follow Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) and Safety regulations in day-to-day activities.
• Complete assignments on a day-to-day basis and report deviations and take necessary actions.

Engineering & Planning

• Plan and coordinate maintenance engineering work including review of mechanical and electrical engineering specifications.
• Perform engineering review of proposed new equipment designs to assess reliability, ease of maintenance and availability of replacement parts.
• Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with production and logistics teams and external contractor teams for specialized system maintenance and project execution.
• Liaise with production staff to coordinate repair work, statutory safety inspections and supply of new plant and equipment with production schedules.

Qualifications & Experience

• ITI/Diploma in Electrical.
• At least 3 years hands-on experience in Paint/Chemical industry.
• Hands-on experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems.

Skills & Competencies

• Troubleshooting with VFD Panels and starters such as DOL, RDOL, STAR-DELTA.
• Testing of LT Panels, PCCs, MCCs and Capacitor Banks.
• English proficiency: speak, read and write.
• Maintain balance in work culture and healthy relations with all employees.
