Role Overview
Maintenance Engineer at Matar Al Baqmi Holding Company. The role manages and oversees maintenance activities in animal feed production facilities.
Role Purpose
To minimize downtime, ensure optimal machinery performance, and enhance operational efficiency through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and strategic equipment management across feed mills and poultry operations.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of feed mill machinery including mixers, grinders, pellet mills, conveyors, and ventilation systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in feed mills and poultry farms.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repair and servicing as needed.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
- Implement and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure continuous and efficient operation of equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and maintenance checks to detect early signs of potential failures or maintenance needs.
- Monitor production downtime and work to improve equipment uptime by addressing root causes of mechanical failures.
Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within animal feed and poultry operations.
- Work closely with production and operations teams to ensure minimal disruption in feed production and poultry operations.
Inventory & Procurement
- Manage inventory and procurement of spare parts, ensuring parts availability to avoid production delays.
Records & Reporting
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports, tracking repairs and service history for all equipment.
Team Leadership
- Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance and training to improve technical skills.
Optimization & Planning
- Develop and implement energy-saving initiatives and cost-effective maintenance solutions to optimize plant operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in maintenance engineering in the animal feed or poultry industry.
Skills & Competencies
- Feed mill and poultry equipment expertise; understanding of machinery in animal feed production and poultry facilities.
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting; skills in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic failures.
- Preventive maintenance experience in creating and implementing maintenance schedules.
- Poultry systems knowledge; familiarity with equipment like ventilation, heating, and feeding systems.
- Industrial safety standards; knowledge in maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.
- Technical proficiency in PLCs, automation systems, and industrial controls.
- Bilingual communication proficiency for effective teamwork.
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking; ability to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Team leadership and training experience in managing and training maintenance teams.
- Data-driven approach; proficiency in using maintenance management software.
