Role Overview
Logistics Specialist at Unilever. The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for managing import operations, customs clearance activities, and regulatory compliance to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods. Location: KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).

Role Purpose
The Logistics Supervisor coordinates with government authorities, customs brokers, logistics service providers, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless import processes, adherence to all applicable regulations, and operational excellence in the movement of goods through the import supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Import Operations & Coordination
- Coordinate and monitor import shipment activities to support timely and efficient customs clearance.
- Coordinate import shipment activities, including shipment tracking, cost monitoring, payments, and system registrations.
- Coordinate the delivery of imported goods to designated warehouses.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure readiness and timely receipt of imported goods.
- Follow up on empty container returns to avoid detention charges and unnecessary costs.
Customs & Documentation
- Ensure all required documentation, registrations, permits, triangulation invoice requirements, and pre-approvals are completed before shipment arrival.
- Prepare and review customs clearance documentation to ensure compliance and smooth shipment processing.
- Coordinate triangulation invoice requirements and ensure compliance with customs regulations.
- Support customs exemption applications and maintain related documentation and records.
- Maintain accurate shipment, clearance, and compliance records in company systems.
Regulatory Compliance
- Support regulatory compliance activities, including SFDA registrations, SASO certifications, customs exemptions, and other government-related requirements.
- Ensure compliance with SFDA, SASO, ZATCA Customs, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with government authorities and customs brokers to obtain required approvals and resolve clearance-related issues.
Stakeholder Management & Performance
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure smooth end-to-end import operations.
- Monitor logistics service providers' performance and escalate operational issues when required.
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and support operational excellence initiatives.
- Track clearance lead times and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in continuous improvement projects aimed at optimizing logistics and import operations.
- Support reporting activities by providing logistics performance data and KPI analysis.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in logistics, import operations, customs clearance, freight forwarding, supply chain, or government relations.
- Experience in Saudi regulatory authorities and systems (SFDA, SASO, and ZATCA) is preferred.
- Good understanding of customs clearance procedures, import documentation, freight forwarding, and compliance requirements.
Skills & Competencies
- Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong knowledge of import operations, customs clearance, and logistics processes.
- Good understanding of SFDA, SASO, ZATCA Customs requirements, and Saudi regulatory frameworks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Deliver fantastic results and demonstrate resilience as an example to others.
