Role Overview
The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all logistical aspects of a construction project to ensure smooth site operations. This position is based with AtkinsRéalis.

Role Purpose
To manage the delivery, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment, organize site access and traffic flow, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The role works closely with project teams, suppliers, and contractors to optimize resource utilization, minimize delays, maintain accurate documentation, and keep the site efficient, safe, and well-organized throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Performance
- Deliver site-wide logistics through the procurement of a site-wide Logistics management contractor.
- Define and monitor the scope of services delivered satisfactorily through setting and monitoring measurable goals and objectives.
- Ensure orderly, safe and efficient movement of labour, plant, and materials around site.
- Establish and maintain a secure, well-maintained site with regular logistics meetings.
- Manage efficient and orderly worker accommodation.
- Develop processes, procedures and induction programmes.
- Oversee supply chain management, movement plans and lookahead forecasting.
- Ensure logistics activities are not a constraining factor on the program.
- Create site-specific safety manual with appropriate first aid cover and equipment.
- Develop, maintain and update the Site Emergency Plan.
- Ensure information is communicated effectively around the site.
- Plan effective signage in line with corporate branding.
- Manage special public access roads efficiently, including access to show houses and sales pavilions.
- Provision an effective security management system to ensure all logistics objectives are achievable.
Change Management
- Review variations and adjustments to Logistics Contractor scope and assess impacts.
- Monitor construction change management process via the Engineer.
Permitting
- Ensure the Logistics Contractor's acquisition of all necessary permits for smooth logistics operations.
Cost
- Review completeness of established budgets and cost plans.
- Ensure work is re-measured and signed off in accordance with the contract.
Planning
- Develop monthly detailed graphical time slice showing plot and infrastructure activities and how logistics will support.
- Review weekly plans and confirm activities are accurate and coordinated across stakeholders.
Risk
- Review detailed risk register developed by logistics contractor and team coordinated with all site stakeholders.
- Complete and implement mitigation plan.
Interface
- Provide coordination across all programme consultants and stakeholders related to logistics works.
- Provide support to plots in terms of external access and influences that impact plot activities.
Communication
- Highlight issues and concerns through regular meetings.
- Roll out weekly directions to stakeholder team managers.
- Seek resolution to issues with plot, infrastructure or logistics teams or escalate with proposed mitigation plan.
Reporting
- Report weekly issues through detailed logistics dashboards.
Assurance
- Review submission of checklists from all logistics contractor self-audits covering QA, Safety, Environmental, Welfare and related areas.
- Report on audit status.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management or Real Estate Development.
- Chartership preferred.
- More than 15 years as a Sitewide Logistics expert in management of complex, matrixed team environments across multiple cultures.
- Prior Abu Dhabi projects experience mandatory (Hospitality, Mixed use, Residential projects).
- Fluent in English (read, write and speak).
Skills & Certifications
- CSCS.
- SMSTS/SSSTS.
- Recognised safety programme (qualified and up to date).
- First Aid.
- Lifting Supervisor Certification.
- Traffic management.
- Institutional membership.
