Role Overview
Lifting Engineer (Appointed Person) at Archirodon Group N.V., an international Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor executing complex projects worldwide in Energy, Marine, Infrastructure, and Defense & Security sectors.

Role Purpose
To supervise, manage and execute lifting operations on complex onshore and offshore projects, ensuring all lifting equipment, activities and personnel meet international safety standards, regulatory requirements and company HSE policies.
Key Responsibilities
Lifting Operations Management
- Supervise and manage site lifting operations for onshore and offshore lifting equipment including pedestal cranes, gantry cranes, runway beams, mobile cranes, crawler cranes, forklifts, winches, electric hoists, pull lifts, chain blocks, wire rope slings, webbing slings, chain slings, shackles, eye bolts, lifeboat davits and winches, and containers and baskets.
- Prepare lifting plans and supervise critical lifting operations in oil and gas companies.
- Execute lifting operations in accordance with prepared plans and safety requirements.
Maintenance, Inspection and Testing
- Manage and oversee maintenance, inspection, load testing and certification of cranes and other fixed and loose lifting items.
- Conduct troubleshooting, auditing and certification activities for all lifting equipment.
- Possess hands-on experience in maintenance, inspection, load testing and certification of lifting equipment.
Safety and Compliance
- Create and review Methods Statements, Risk Assessments and Job Safety Analysis Plans.
- Ensure contractors and subordinates are aware of and comply with company HSE procedures, rules and regulations for rigging and lifting activities.
- Work in line with company HSE Policy.
- Remain up to date with Health and Safety at Work Guidelines.
- Possess thorough knowledge of local legislations applicable to lifting operations.
Competency Management
- Manage the process for verifying the competency of the lifting team including Appointed Person, Lifting Supervisor, Crane Operator and Rigger/Banksman roles.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Attend client and company management meetings on and off site regarding site rigging issues.
Contracts and Standards
- Possess skills in contracts management of third-party lifting equipment inspection.
- Maintain broad-based knowledge and be conversant with international standards relevant to lifting equipment and operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 10 years proven experience supervising and managing site lifting operations.
- Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in maintenance, inspection, load testing and certification of cranes and other lifting items.
- LEEA Accredited Training for Lifting Operations/Lifting Appointed Person Course.
- Oil and Gas experience.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in English language.
- Adequate knowledge in computer software and related applications and reporting.
- Broad-based knowledge of international standards relevant to lifting equipment and operations.
Additional Information
- Preferred: ADNOC Approval as Lifting Appointed Person.
