Role Purpose

The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all members and guests at the Fitness First facility, maintaining vigilance over the aquatic areas, and enforcing safety protocols to prevent incidents and emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

Surveillance & Safety Monitoring

• Monitor aquatic areas continuously to identify hazards and unsafe behaviors.
• Maintain constant awareness of all pool users and facility activity.
• Enforce facility safety rules and policies with all members and guests.

Emergency Response & First Aid

• Respond immediately to emergencies and incidents in and around the water.
• Provide first aid and CPR when required.
• Coordinate with emergency services and facility management during critical incidents.

Member & Guest Engagement

• Provide customer service and assistance to members and guests using aquatic facilities.
• Educate members on safety protocols and proper facility use.

Facility Maintenance & Compliance

• Report and document all incidents, accidents, and safety concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards of pool areas and surrounding zones.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Current or ability to obtain relevant lifeguard certification.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain).
• Previous lifeguard or water safety experience preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong swimming ability and water safety knowledge.
• Excellent observational and attention to detail skills.
• Quick decision-making and emergency response capability.
• Professional customer service and communication skills.
• Physical fitness and stamina for extended surveillance periods.
