Role Overview

Lifeguard at Miral Destinations (Miral Experiences), Abu Dhabi. This is a guest-facing role ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of experience for all visitors while maintaining safety standards across water attractions and rides.

Role Purpose

To ensure guest safety by monitoring water environments, responding to emergencies, operating rides and attractions, providing clear directions and instructions, and maintaining essential swimming, lifeguarding, and basic life support skills at test-ready competency levels at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Guest & Safety Operations

• Ensure guest, colleague, and contractor safety at all times.
• Maintain rescue skill competency and basic life support skill competency at test-ready levels at all times.
• Monitor water and respond to emergencies.
• Operate rides and attractions.
• Give clear directions and instructions to guests.

Ride & Attraction Management

• Ride all rides, slides, and attractions as required for operational purposes.
• Follow all manufacturer and department guidelines and standard operating procedures regarding ride dispatch and guest safety.
• Move furniture, ride vehicles, and equipment in and out of the park.

Training & Compliance

• Attend ongoing training.
• Adhere to training standards set by the department.

Guest Service

• Smile and be friendly.
• Perform all other duties as directed by management.

Qualifications & Experience

• 20/25 vision, corrected or uncorrected.
• Ability to swim a minimum of 50 meters non-stop using front crawl or breaststroke.
• Ability to swim underwater at a depth of 1.4 meters for 3 meters and retrieve a 10-pound brick.
• Maintain test-ready lifeguard skills in accordance with International Lifeguard Training Program.
• Basic spoken English proficiency.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to work at heights, in water, and in extreme temperatures, outside, year-round.
• Ability to work in a diverse team and be culturally aware.
• International Lifeguard Training Program or similar program experience (desirable).
• Previous lifeguard experience (desirable).
• Previous guest service experience (desirable).
• Intermediate or better English proficiency — read, write, speak (desirable).
• Basic spoken Arabic proficiency (desirable).

Additional Information

Additional Swimming Skills (Desirable)

• Swim 200 meters non-stop using front crawl or breaststroke.
• Retrieve a 10-pound brick from the deepest water (5 meters).
• Tread water for 2 minutes without using arms.

Additional Certifications & Licenses (Desirable)

• SCUBA certification.
• UAE Driver's License or Buggy License.
• Swimming experience.

Work Schedule

• Work nights, evenings, and/or holidays.
