Role Overview
Licensed Aircraft Engineer at Etihad Airways, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This role is part of Etihad's Journey 2030 strategy to expand operations significantly across fleet, network, and passenger capacity.

Role Purpose
To perform and certify aircraft maintenance activities in line with Etihad's authorization policy while leading and guiding Aircraft Technicians. Ensure all maintenance is carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory and technical standards across one of the world's most advanced and diverse fleets.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Certification & Compliance
- Certify own work and the work of others after verifying that tasks have been performed in accordance with approved data and within the scope of authorization.
- Carry out maintenance in compliance with company, health and safety, and airport regulations.
- Ensure all work performed under Etihad's processes and procedures is completed safely and in line with quality standards.
- Actively follow and promote the procedures outlined in the Safety & Quality Management Manual (SQMM).
Documentation & Preparation
- Complete all documentation accurately and on time, in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure all materials, parts, tools, equipment, and documentation are prepared at the start of each shift.
- Perform daily inspections of company vehicles prior to use and complete the Vehicle Maintenance Inspection form.
Safety & Environment Management
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free environment to prevent Foreign Object Damage (FOD).
- Ensure equipment and work areas are maintained in a clean, serviceable, and safe condition.
- Adhere to company health, safety, and corporate image standards at all times.
- Encourage a culture of safety and positive reporting across the team.
Technician Leadership & Guidance
- Provide guidance and assistance to Technicians to ensure safe and effective working practices.
- Demonstrate a professional approach when interacting with colleagues, stakeholders, and customers.
Inspections & Equipment
- Conduct inspections as required on Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and complete relevant checklists.
Professional Development
- Participate in training and development to enhance technical capability and professional contribution.
Qualifications & Experience
- High School Leaving Certificate, Diploma, or University or College Degree.
- Valid Aircraft Maintenance License (GCAA / EASA Part-66 / ICAO Type convertible to GCAA).
- Minimum of 7–10 years of aircraft maintenance experience, including at least 5 years of overall certifying experience in a Line or Base/Light Maintenance environment.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of certifying experience on at least 2 of Etihad aircraft type ratings (Level 3) — Airbus 320 / 330 NEO / 350 / 380, Boeing 777 / 787 — with valid company authorization.
