Role Overview
Legal Specialist at Elate, based in Qatar. The role reviews and coordinates compliance for legal documentation and leases for Vodafone Qatar, drafting and coordinating legal terms on a range of legal and compliance matters in coordination with the Legal Director.
Role Purpose
Provide legal support, research, and advice to the business and department heads on corporate and commercial legal matters. Highlight legal risks, facilitate compliant outcomes, and coordinate legal documentation to support Vodafone Qatar's strategic and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Documentation & Compliance
- Review the accuracy and alignment of legal documentation with Vodafone Qatar standards and policies aligned with local law.
- Review legal documentation and provide legal research required for legal advice and support to both the business and the department head in engagements with internal stakeholders regarding legal matters.
- Coordinate legal terms on a range of legal and compliance matters in coordination with the Legal Director.
- Review and coordinate compliance for legal documentation and leases for Vodafone Qatar.
Business Support & Advisory
- Provide legal support, including coordinating drafting, negotiating, and advising on business-critical business operation projects.
- Research and advise the business on all legal aspects and draft any related legal documents.
- Advise stakeholders of legal risks and appropriate resolution strategy when customers' terms and conditions deviate from Vodafone Qatar's standard customer terms and conditions, in coordination with the Legal Director.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Coordinate with key internal stakeholders as required, preparing communication drafts inside and outside the company.
Regulatory & Submissions
- Assist in supporting the evaluation and preparation of submissions relating to key matters and proposed legislation and regulation.
General Duties
- Perform any additional project, task, or activity assigned or delegated by the Line Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in law or equivalent.
- Postgraduate degree preferred.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant quality corporate and commercial legal experience as part of a large corporate or private practice firm.
- Telecom experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Legal specialist expertise as a core competence.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
