Role Overview
Lead Product Service Engineer - Turbine Controls & Operability at GE Vernova. This role provides direct technical support to global GE Vernova Gas Power customers across three primary workstreams.
Role Purpose
Own technical resolution of complex Controls system issues affecting Gas turbine and Steam Controls & Operability, identify fleet-level trends, drive root cause analysis, and deliver timely solutions through cross-functional collaboration with Design Engineering, Product Management, Regional Customer Engineering Centers, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Vendors, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Issue Resolution
- Own the technical resolution to multiple complex Controls system issues including Gas turbine and Steam Controls & Operability with a sense of urgency.
- Drive complex RCAs through root cause and corrective action.
Trend Analysis & Communication
- Identify trending issues and provide countermeasures to protect the customer fleet.
- Communicate findings to the relevant audience via TILs, PSxBs, ETCs, OnTheGo alerts, and other channels.
- Communicate both internally to field teams and GE Vernova leadership and externally to end customers.
Collaboration & Engagement
- Collaborate with Design Engineering, Product Management, Regional Customer Engineering Centers, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Vendors, and Customers to provide sound technical resolution in a timely manner.
- Lead and promote the GE Vernova Way traits, lean principles, and simplification into day-to-day activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience in controls, operations, engineering, installation of Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, or relevant functions.
- Proven experience in a customer-facing or Engineering role.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong oral and written communication in English language.
- Proven experience with GE Vernova HA/F Class Gas turbines.
- Expertise in ControlST application algorithms modifications and turbine operational trend data analysis.
- Self-starter and resourceful problem-solver capable of navigating GE Vernova resource databases and organizations to deliver solutions with urgency.
- Problem-solving ability and willingness to apply engineering problem-solving methods to resolve issues under pressure.
- Ability to communicate at all levels including field engineers, site engineers, plant managers, and GE Vernova leadership.
- Ability to rapidly change directions for multiple concurrent projects based on emergent business priorities.
- Humble, open, collaborative, and continuously learning mindset.
- Strong oral and written communication in Arabic language (desired).
