Lead Process Engineer

Role Overview

Lead Process Engineer at Wood PLC. This role provides technical leadership in process design and engineering for oil and gas projects, ensuring compliance with codes and standards while coordinating with internal teams, EPC contractors, and ADNOC stakeholders.

Role Purpose

To deliver technical expertise in process design, ensure engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards, and coordinate process design and engineering activities with EPC contractors and internal discipline teams to meet project expectations and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Process Design & Technical Leadership

• Provide technical expertise in all process design activities.
• Ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards.
• Perform regular and timely technical reviews of Process Engineering deliverables developed by engineering consultants and contractors.
• Ensure design quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
• Review and approve Engineering Consultant and EPC Contractor work to ensure compliance with ADNOC project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices.
• Ensure integration of overall Process Engineering across the Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT).
• Ensure quality and accuracy of Engineering Consultant and EPC Contractor Process Engineering design activities.

Coordination & Project Execution

• Coordinate, monitor and handle Process design and engineering with EPC Contractor as per project expectation and complete within the time frame.
• Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models.
• Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation.
• Participate in teams for equipment sizing and equipment selection considering optimization and standardization.
• Participate in layout reviews, model reviews, design reviews, and technical workshops.
• Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation and performance evaluation.
• Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning.

Stakeholder Management & Integration

• Work with other discipline engineers within IPMT, EPC Contractor, ADNOC Engineering, Operation and Site Interface to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure quality discipline engineering execution and integrity.
• Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers.
• Report to ADNOC Discipline Team Leader, Engineering Manager, and provide support to Project Managers and Engineers within the Project Management Team organization.
• Interface with Managers, Team Leaders and Engineers in Company's Technical Departments, Business Units, Operations Units, and Logistics Department.
• Interface regularly with Contractor's Engineering and Project Management team and discipline engineers as required.

Design Standards & Facilities

• Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects.
• Ensure full utilization of the existing facilities while optimizing the facilities required for the new projects.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry.

• Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
• Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
• Ability to make independent decisions in planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems.
