Role Overview
Lead Planning and Cost Engineer at Wood PLC, supporting the ADNOC Offshore project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The position is based at the client office in Abu Dhabi.

Role Purpose
To lead planning and cost engineering activities for the ADNOC Offshore project, ensuring robust cost control, contract compliance, bid evaluation, and variation management throughout the project lifecycle while coordinating with Project Management Consultants to achieve successful project implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Development and Tender Management
- Develop contractual requirements relating to cost control and estimation, invoicing of payment, and variations to be stipulated in agreements (FEED, PMC, EPC, etc.) and incorporate them into tender documents and agreements.
- Evaluate technical bids (PMC, FEED, and EPC) to ascertain compliance to specified requirements and provide clarifications to bidders.
- Prepare relevant portions of the Technical Evaluation Report and finalize relevant portions of contract documents after incorporating all bulletins issued and clarifications received during the tender stage.
Cost Analysis and Variation Management
- Evaluate variation requests and claims by contractors and conduct in-depth analysis of all cost-related submittals from consultants.
- Prepare counter estimates taking into consideration contractual schedule of unit rates for variations and make appropriate recommendations to management for approval.
Project Approval and Financial Planning
- Prepare AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) and AFOU (Authorization for Other Uses) for all ongoing projects for management approval.
Project Control Coordination
- Coordinate with Project Control Managers of all Project Management Consultants (PMC) to ensure adherence to Project Control Procedures and other requirements throughout the project duration to achieve successful project implementation.
- Ensure charges of costs are directed to correct account codes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Engineering in related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Oil and Gas industry upstream offshore sector working for competitor organizations such as Kent, KBR, Worley, Petrofac, or Saipem.
- PMC experience is highly preferable.
- Large projects experience is mandatory.
- Middle East / GCC experience on projects with Saudi Aramco, Qatar Energy, PDO, or similar is mandatory.
- ADNOC projects experience is mandatory.
- Experience on offshore projects.
