Role Overview
Wood PLC is recruiting a PMC Lead Planner with experience in the oil and gas industry to be based in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi for a PMC downstream project.

Role Purpose
The Lead Planner will lead planning and scheduling activities across multiple major projects, managing detailed project schedules, tracking progress through earned value and other metrics, and serving as the primary interface on scheduling matters between the Project Manager, customers, operations, engineering and sub-contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and System Transition
- Align with Head of Projects in transitioning the current scheduling and planning system from MS-Projects into Primavera P6.
- Develop project schedules for use during the tendering process.
Schedule Development and Maintenance
- Create detailed project schedules with baselines as required for all major projects.
- Develop, maintain and report progress on the company's resource planner including projects and operations.
- Develop, maintain and report progress on the company's inspection and testing schedule.
Progress Tracking and Reporting
- Track progress on all major projects through interface with the project manager, operations, engineering and sub-contractors.
- Provide detailed reports on current progress, projected finish on both cost and schedule versus baseline using earned value, percentage complete, s-curves, CPI, SPI indicators, and current spend reports.
- Track and update project progress using earned value techniques.
- Issue project progress reports as required.
Stakeholder Management and Coordination
- Support the Project Manager on project-related activities on individual projects.
- Interface with customers' project managers, expeditors and planners on schedule issues and reports as requested by the Project Manager.
- Interface with Quality Control to prepare, manage, maintain and report progress on inspection and testing schedules.
- Interface with all points of contact on individual projects as required, including internal resources, customers, vendors and sub-contractors.
- Attend project kick off and progress meetings as required.
- Visit project sites to meet customers and sub-contractors and to review, monitor and record progress as required.
General Support
- Support the Project Management team on other project scheduling and project management issues as required.
- Support the Project Manager on other project issues as required.
- Work in accordance with the defined project procedures and instructions issued by the Project Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, with a focus on project management or scheduling.
- Proven experience in planning and scheduling for oil and gas projects, with a minimum of 5 years in a lead role.
- Significant, demonstrable experience of the application of project planning techniques including earned value, CPI, SPI.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to project planning and scheduling in the oil and gas sector.
- Certification in project management or scheduling (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP) is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in project management software and tools, namely Primavera P6.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address schedule-related challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Leadership and mentoring abilities, with a track record of successfully managing and guiding a team of planning engineers.
