Role Overview
Lead Pipeline Engineer with Wood PLC on the ADNOC Offshore US LTDP project.
Role Purpose
Provide technical expertise, leadership, and oversight of all pipeline design and engineering activities. Ensure compliance with relevant international codes, ADNOC standards, and best practices. Coordinate pipeline engineering execution between the IPMT, EPC Contractor, and ADNOC stakeholders to deliver quality results within project timeframes.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering Compliance
- Provide technical expertise in all pipeline design activities.
- Ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards.
- Ensure that facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects.
- Ensure full utilization of existing facilities while optimizing facilities required for new projects.
Quality Assurance & Reviews
- Ensure quality and accuracy of Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor's pipeline engineering design activities.
- Review and approve Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor's work and ensure compliance with ADNOC project specifications, relevant codes, standards, and best industry practices.
- Perform regular and timely technical reviews of pipeline engineering deliverables developed by engineering consultants and contractors, ensuring design quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
- Participate in layout reviews, model reviews, design reviews, and technical workshops.
- Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation and performance evaluation.
Coordination & Team Leadership
- Ensure integration of overall pipeline engineering and overall coordination within the IPMT Pipeline Engineering Team.
- Coordinate and monitor pipeline design and engineering with the EPC Contractor as per project expectation and complete within the timeframe.
- Work with other discipline engineers within the IPMT, EPC Contractor, ADNOC Engineering, Operation, and Site Interface to resolve technical issues and ensure quality discipline engineering execution and integrity.
- Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers.
- Interface with Managers, Team Leaders, and Engineers in the company's Technical Departments, Business Units, Operations Units, and Logistics Department.
- Interface regularly with Contractor's Engineering and Project Management team and discipline engineers as required.
Design Optimization & Analysis
- Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models.
- Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation.
- Participate in teams for equipment sizing and equipment selection considering optimization and standardization.
Reporting & Support
- Report to ADNOC Discipline Team Leader, Engineering Manager, and provide support to Project Managers and Engineers within the Project Management Team organization.
- Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 15+ years of experience, predominantly in the oil and gas upstream offshore industry, working for competitor organizations such as Kent, KBR, Worley, Petrofac, and Saipem.
- PMC experience is highly preferable.
- Large-project experience is a must.
- Middle East / GCC experience on projects with Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, PDO, etc.
- Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
- Ability to make independent decisions in planning, organizing, and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems.
