Role Overview
Lead Interface Engineer – Drilling at Wood PLC. This role provides engineering support for planning, preparation, and review of drilling, completion, and abandonment operations, ensuring all well operations are safely planned and executed within defined programs and budgets to meet company objectives.
Role Purpose
Supervise the execution of well operations and act as the key interface between offshore operations and onshore teams, assuring that operations conform to plans, are carried out safely and efficiently, and that offshore manpower, rig, material supplies, and stock are managed effectively to prevent operational delays.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Supervision & Execution
- Supervise offshore operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with company standards
- Ensure all well operations are safely executed in line with approved programs, budgets, and company objectives
- Manage rig activities, offshore personnel, materials, and logistics to prevent operational delays
- Represent the company at the rig site for all operational and technical matters
Engineering Support & Planning
- Provide engineering support for planning, preparation, and review of drilling, completion, and abandonment operations
- Participate in risk assessments (HAZOP/HAZID) and ensure all actions are closed prior to execution
Interface & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the key interface between offshore operations and onshore teams to ensure alignment with company objectives
- Ensure contractor and service company performance meets contractual and operational expectations
Compliance & Safety
- Maintain compliance with the Company Safety Management System and HSEQ standards
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture offshore
- Comply with the company Code of Ethics and HSE critical role requirements
- Support internal and corporate audits where required
Logistics & Resource Management
- Ensure timely availability of personnel, equipment, and materials offshore
- Monitor material usage and stock levels; ensure timely requisition to avoid downtime
Operational Improvement
- Identify and implement operational improvement opportunities in coordination with relevant teams
- Track daily operational costs and maintain cost awareness
Qualifications & Experience
- Engineering or Science Degree or equivalent
- Previous experience in similar role
- Good knowledge and understanding of Oil Industry and Upstream Activities
- Good understanding of operations and process facilities
Skills & Competencies
- Good management skill
- Strong safety culture promotion and enforcement
